Give Your Inner Critic a Hug
Episode 192 My friend, do you have an inner critical voice that is in the driver's seat of your life? If you do, so do I! I have come to realize over the past month that I go no longer battle my inner critic, I must befriend her. In this episode, I am talking about what an inner critic (IC) is and why the IC exists in *most* of us, and how to use loads of self-compassion to befriend your IC to help you find freedom in making your critic’s voice quieter than your true, authentic voice which deserves to SHINE. I’m going to give you a peek inside my IC and how SHE and I had a rough start to 2022. We are copasetic now and have hugged it out, but she’s still there making sure I don’t do anything to embarrass myself or fail, so this is why I wanted to talk about the inner critic today to help you hug it out with your IC and make HER a little less noisy so you can be friends - because when we’re friends with ourselves, life becomes a little more peaceful and a lot more adventurous. Episode 190 Happy 2022! What a way to start the New Year! I'm excited to bring you this impactful episode featuring the super-twin duo, my friends Anne and Leigh Walkup. Anne and Leigh are the founders of Retro Rodeo, Publishing, and the creators of Front Porch Life, a digital magazine that includes stories, recipes, and a real down-home feeling that brings you comfort and warmth. These two ladies have built their life around simple living and down-home cooking. They are the daughters of Judy Yeager (The creator of which they now run full-time) and thrive on being in the kitchen or out on their farms with their animals. Slowing down and enjoying the good life is not just something they say…they fully embrace it. As sober women, the Walkup sisters know just how difficult it can be to stay disciplined and intentional. They also discuss the habit-building process and being more consistent with positive habits. In this episode, you will hear: What comes first, discipline or sobriety? Add More Joy to Your Holiday (But Only if You Want To)

Add More Joy to Your Holiday (But Only if You Want To)
Episode 188 Life is happening whether it’s the holiday season or not and being someone who spent most of November and December of 2009 in the hospital with my mom, I know how many people are not in a place where the holidays even matter, let alone are joyful. This episode took a bit of a turn after I decided to record it. I talk about how we can add more even in the most challenging of times without imposing it on you. If you want more joy, then go for it, if you don’t, that’s your right. It’s okay to not want it, it’s okay to skip the holiday season, and it’s okay to be alone. I also talk about the pursuit of more which can lead to never honestly feeling joy or peace any time of the year. This episode is for you if you want to ease stress and anxiety, stay sober, and maybe make some new traditions. I give you some mantras at the end of the episode, my favorite one right now, and as a gift to you with great thanks and appreciation. I made you a super cool holiday playlist with some non-holiday favorites as well. (dance to it like no one is watching!)
