From Battling Burnout to Becoming Balanced - Featuring Amy Kandetzke
“Because the female body is so, so sensitive to stress, especially in perimenopause and menopause, we need to support it the right way, not only during the fast, but before the fast. And that means supporting your body with the correct amount of protein, the correct amount of nutrients. And then during the fast, I actually encourage small snacks throughout the day because there's research out there that shows that as long as we keep our calories less than 500 and we're still getting all the benefits of the intermittent fasting, but we're keeping our blood sugar stable because as you know, when our blood sugar crashes, our cortisol goes up and we don't want that. That's our fat storing hormone.” In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in as guest Amy Kandetzke shares her mission to help women find the root case of the symptoms and provide a solution to achieve optimal health through nutrition, lifestyle modifications and supplementations. Some of the topics covered in the episode are: · Her Journey in Fitness to Focusing on Preventative Health · The Proper Way to do Intermittent Fasting and the Health Benefits · Why Snacking Throughout the Day is Important to Keep Blood Sugar Stable If you enjoyed this episode, please take a screenshot of the episode and tag me in your stories with your biggest takeaway - @kellyadunlap If you would like to connect with me, please email me at: Join Kelly’s free Facebook Community: Connect with Kelly: Email: Check out my website: Connect with Amy:

The Fit Life With Tab - Featuring Tabitha Goldsmith
“Just like anything in life, if we want something, we get to decide. I think it's all perspective and this is where I tie in the mindset component of the work with my clients is it's all around empowered decisions. So when we think I couldn't do that because I'd have to give up X, Y and Z, we take our power away, right? Instead of being like, well, what's possible, could it be possible, what would it look like? Has anybody else ever done this with kids balance, this lifestyle with kids because I did it in college and it's the same with my stepdad. It was really just I didn't see what was possible within me until he suggested it from a place of love. And it was kind of the same way with bodybuilding when I saw a friend of mine and she was a bodybuilder and thought her body, her physique was amazing, but I never thought I could do it. And she just such confidence says, of course you could. Yeah, of course I'll show you and it was just no big deal and I thought, really and so you learn through every stage.” In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in as guest Tabitha Goldsmith, a life and health coach and bodybuilding enthusiast shares how she helps purpose-driven women to create results without giving up the things they love. Some of the topics covered in the episode are: · The role of evidence collection in our brains and how it affects our perception of situations · How to avoid negative comparisons and instead see the possibilities that arise from seeing others doing cool things · The power of recognizing thoughts and how it impacts actions and choices · Tab's flexible food strategy based on intuitive eating, fueling with plants and proteins, and tapping into hunger cues If you enjoyed this episode, please take a screenshot of the episode and tag me in your stories with your biggest takeaway - @kellyadunlap If you would like to connect with me, please email me at: Join Kelly’s free Facebook Community: Connect with Kelly: Email: Check out my website: Connect with Tabitha:

Balancing Hormones for Better Quality of Life: Managing Symptoms of Menopause - Featuring Tricia Cammaart
“I really like to focus on balancing blood sugar and that in itself can help fix waking up in the night. It can help fix the brain fog with the belly fat and it is a big transition and I like to work with just like women eating three meals a day and really like making those that breakfast, that lunch and that dinner, like, very substantial, but having a little bit of fasting time and fasting overnight as well. However, I know that change isn't the easiest to do and I think that is one of the hardest things, there's no magic pill that we can take to make things easy. And as we start to see these hormones decrease, like everything gets harder and we have to work harder, we have to allow ourselves the time for self-care so we can put that in.” In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in as guest Tricia Cammaart shares how she helps women over 40 reduce inflammation and improve their metabolic health so they can feel and look their best. Some of the topics covered in the episode are: · Symptoms of menopause (hot flashes, constipation, overwhelm, lack of clarity, sleep problems, belly fat, hopelessness) · Strategies to alleviate menopause symptoms (balancing blood sugar, three substantial meals a day, overnight fasting) · The importance of addressing blood sugar regulation for overall health · The challenges of making lifestyle changes during menopause · The role of a coach in supporting and motivating clients through lifestyle changes. I have to slowly unpeel the layers back and not feeling shame or guilt around putting myself in this position because sometimes people can think, well, God, I just put myself into position. Assessing Metabolic Damage and Dysfunction
"Most of the time when people are in my sphere, you know, they're basically having trouble with weight loss. They're struggling with symptoms such as they keep gaining weight, they can't lose weight or they're losing weight, gaining weight, losing weight, gaining weight. They can't sleep. Maybe they have trouble following sleep, Maybe they have trouble staying asleep or maybe they fall asleep just fine. But then wake up in the middle of the night between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. They have belly fat. They have extra fat on their back. They don't feel like themselves. They have no energy. Their snappy short fuse, low energy. They get energy dips throughout the day. Or maybe they wake up and they just feel very, very tired and they just can't seem to get a grip. And they just feel like their brain is chaos because they can't focus and there's just this nonstop noise going on in their brain. Right. Totally sucks. I've been there. And so that is a prime example of somebody that would need this assessment and they could really, really, really benefit from the assessment." Unlocking Your Health Potential - From Symptoms to Solutions - Featuring Justin Janoska
“The worst thing we can do and people do this is to be antagonistic and fight and complain and argumentative with them about it, which people do, and then take that home and rant about it at Facebook groups and the spouse and then lash out their kids. Because here's what I'm going to say, is that you're the one losing. At the end of the day, it's not them, and you're only going to feel worse because guess what really got you sick in the first place probably is all the psychological stress you've had in your life and then you're just reinforcing it. So like it's always going to be about controlling you, which is really the overarching and the fulcrum of what I teach people. Because challenges and difficulty, whether it's this or something else, is not going to change. It's all about working on what's inside and not being reactive, being more reflective, all that stuff. It's hard skill set to develop, but we can do it. But that is the real teaching because that's what's going to keep you you know, to sustain the life you want and to weather the storm.” In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in as guest Justin Janoska shares his journey as an autoimmune disease expert and how he helps women regain control of their body so they can live their best life. “I really believe that we will always follow through with who we believe that we are and we'll never be able to do something that is inconsistent with our identity. So, if you don't believe you're the kind of person who would X, Y, Z, your brain's not even going to question if you can or not, because that's not who I am. So, whenever I'm working with someone, for example, I'm always making sure that whatever the changes I help create, whether it's from anxiety to confidence or whatever, the happiness, like whenever I help them get that result, we make sure that that becomes a part of their identity so that way it actually sticks long term.” In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in as guest Tyler Charlebois shares his journey which started with the desire to understand the driving force of human behavior and has now made it his life’s mission to help people relieve their anxiety. Reduce Your Stress - Release the Weight Challenge - Day 1
“Now when it comes to a problem, we're going to talk about a couple of problems here. But we as women, we tend to think that if we exercise more and eat less, that this is going to be the answer to our problem, which is hanging on to weight, so on and so forth. But really all this does is it creates more hunger, low energy cravings, weight gain, and then you just keep repeating the cycle over and over. It's literally like a method for suffering. So if you're doing this, this is not going to work. If it does work for you and if it has worked for you, it will work for a very short amount of time and then you have to cycle out of it. You cannot stay in this type of a phase for long periods of time.” In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in as Kelly discusses how you can achieve and maintain a good balance between your nervous system and what you can do to commit and cultivate a regular practice that is sustainable to live a long and healthy life. The ART of My Coaching Methods
11/22/2022
The ART of My Coaching Methods
“I work with a lot of women. Typically they are over 35, usually closer to 40. They are starting to feel the consequences of a lot of their choices from when they were in their twenties. For example, when I was in my 20’s I was constantly exercising! I would literally exercise 3x a day and eat a potato. Not knowing that I would be paying the price later on. So we tend to have these behaviors and way of operating and we think that that is the way to go when in fact all we're doing is creating a much bigger problems for later. Often times people have adrenal dysfunction. They don't recognize it because they don't know how bad they feel and some of the symptoms to look for. People have digestive issues…only going to the bathroom once a week. That is not normal. They are tired, but they they don't know how tired they truly are. When we become a certain age, for example, like menopausal women are definitely the type a type of woman that I work with as well. I mean, I'm 50 years old, right? And I'm perimenopausal. So menopause, premenopausal women, people who have PCOS, any thing that really involves hormones. But also, as you'll hear in this episode, I talk about how the mind is such a large part of what I do as well, because if we don't change things within that subconscious mind. It is imperative that I help you to recognize your operating system and belief systems because if you don’t, then you are always going to continue to do the same thing over and over and over again. And I help you to really bring that to the forefront so that you can rewire your brain and create a whole new reality. There's a lot to it and I love it!” In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in as Kelly discusses the art of her practice. How being a coach is not about calories and exercise. It is her magical ability to help you achieve and maintain a good balance between 3 of your body’s systems. Your nervous system, your endocrine system, and your autonomic system. The Nervous System Stress Response as it Relates to my Childhood Story
“I remember back then I developed a nervous tummy and would puke bile in the mornings. When it came time to get ready for school, I was a nervous wreck all the time, and I remember that time my mom even took me to the doctor. It was just it was just an awful, awful time and my sister and I, we would actually talk about that a little bit. And the doctor had to do something very uncomfortable and he said, I'm sorry, I have to do this and we still talk about that like, why was that even necessary? I don't know, it's just weird. So, the nervous stomach really became a huge problem when I was around eight years old. And it's interesting now that I understand the nervous system and resilience and the way that we are able to handle certain situations and how fragile we really are. It's these past experiences that created some behaviours and habits that led through my later years.” In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in as Kelly shares her childhood experience in a difficult and challenging environment and how she overcame the struggles to find self-acceptance and peace. Hormone Reset Challenge - Day 3
“Values are connected to your beliefs and guide the decisions that you make. So why are they important? Well, when you get clear on them, you're not going to feel a sense of failure. You're not going to feel this resistance. You'll never feel uncertainty and you certainly will not feel indecisive. You will feel like that is a solid hell yes and then does the solid hell no. So for example, I lived my life with these four emotions. It was like a nonstop thing and oh my God, it was a struggle. “Doing some resistance training is going to be super, super, super beneficial in so many ways. And when I say resistance training, it doesn't mean lifting heavy weights, although in my opinion, lifting heavy is ideal but for most people, that's not where they're at. For a lot of people, it's like, Hey, let's just get you fucking started with moving using your own body weight, right? And then we can always add in some weights from that point so it also again, this is the biggest point that I want to share here is that our goal is to preserve muscle. We want to preserve muscle, especially as we are maturing and age. You guys, it is so important to preserve the muscle so it's not about how many calories you're burning. It's not about that. It's about preserving your muscle while you're able to burn fat. All right, this is the goal. We want to have good body composition.” In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in as I discuss how you can mitigate reduction of muscle mass by boosting your metabolism and enjoy a healthier lifestyle. “What this is all about, is to help you to find that balance and to help you to really be in a place of giving yourself some grace and knowing that you can have it all. Like, you don't have to choose. You don't have to have that feeling of, okay, I got to be good or bad. So, I want you to ask yourself this question. How would your life change if you felt more comfortable with your food choices, not having the guilt, the all or nothing mindset, or feeling like you have to choose being good or bad? How would your life change? I know for me it was like the biggest ticket to freedom. Once I finally figured that out, once I finally got to a place of contentment and feeling like, Yeah, I can do this, I can have that balance. It's no big deal.” In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in as I share how you can become comfortable with food choices and enjoy the food you love without the guilt. “Balance, I think, is such a difficult thing for people to achieve because there are so much of this all or nothing mindset. So, there's this, you know, if I eat this, I'm bad or if I have that, I'm good, right and then we have this way of thinking and then we feel like we're sinking and then we feel like we're on top of the world. And then it's just this emotional rollercoaster but I promise you that you can have balance, that you can have all the things…you can have a social life without feeling guilt and shame. The next day you can have a glass of wine without having the thought of I was bad. You can have a cookie, it is okay. All of it is okay. It's just you have to get to the point where it's like, okay, I can balance all this. I can definitely have my cake and eat it too, per se, right? It's just all about the balance.” In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in as I share my three-part method on weight loss through identity change. Heal Strong - Featuring Jared Tavasolian
"I do a form of bodywork and I push on people's bodies. It's kind of a mix between acupressure and reflexology. And depending on where you are, that sore or tender or have pain, it refers to a different organ in the body. So if the anterior deltoid. So I'll give you one quick story. Like I had a client who could have one arm go straight up and the other arm kind of was crooked way. He could barely get it up over his forehead. And he was a contractor and so he's like, I have to carry these panels all day long. And we're kind of doing an intake. And I'm like, Okay, well, have you had any major illnesses or diseases or anything? And I know that anterior deltoid refers to the gall bladder. So like that's in my training, I learned that. And so in my head, I'm hearing my mentor tell me my gallbladder like I'm getting the hits for gallbladder. And he goes, Yeah, like nine months ago I had my gallbladder removed. So it's this indication that our organs relate to our muscles and that's what then causes pain." In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, listen in on a great conversation I had with my dear friend, Jared Tavasolian. Jared is an amazing human who helps people to stop suffering and start thriving. He uses many cool techniques which are amazing, as I have had a taste! I cannot wait for you to hear. Some of the topics covered in the episode are: *The importance of addressing the nervous system and not over stressing the body. *The false information being put out there by social media and advertisements. How someone can "look think and healthy" but are really the walking wounded and full of pain. *Owning responsibility for your part of your current situation. Are you worried about I mean, there are all kinds of shit we have in our head that we really need to clear ourselves of, you know, past traumas even, you know, that's a big one. Why Understanding Your Genetic SNPS Can Transform Your Health

Why Understanding Your Genetic SNPS Can Transform Your Health
"Kelly, you got that one, too, the A-OK one Gene. Lactose intolerance, too, as well. You don't make this enzyme very well called lactase. Remember, it's an enzyme ends in a chop, chop chop that breaks down the big giant molecule of dairy, cow's milk. The problem with cow's milk is the molecule is huge. And you're trying to put it's like trying to push your elephant through your bedroom door for folks that have these issues. They drink milk or have ice cream, which I love, unfortunately. And the problem is the molecule is too big to fit through the cells to get into your bloodstream, and it causes digestive disruption. Kelly would benefit from taking lactase digestive enzymes if she does want to have dairy." In this episode of Master Your Mindset and Metabolism, I had the pleasure of having the most amazing conversation with my dear friend and brilliant, Dr. Daniel Farkas, a functional medicine doctor, who specializes in gut health, neurotransmitters, and genetics. Some of the topics covered in the episode are: *Why certain genetic snps make you susceptible to certain food intolerances *What you can do with certain genetic snps - how you can work with and around them. *You may not have the ability to change your DNA and your genetics but you certainly can break the "cycle" and change your epigenetics. It's Never Too Late to Become the Desired You
"I used to like make up all these lies in my head and excuses. I was so skinny in high school, I was the cheerleader on the top of the mound and, you know, high school. I'm 53, by the way. High school started getting further and further away. Right. Sports stopped. I was a soccer player, played tennis, and was a cheerleader. I tried every sport. I was active! And then comes the full-time job. So for all the years, I blamed my industry, the food and event planning industry. But, you know, at that time, I also had a lot of death. So I lost a best friend. I lost a father a year apart. It just kept going and going and I blamed it on that. I look back, when I was working, I made the excuse....I'm so busy, I can't eat. But you know what? I didn't realize while I was in the catering companies, that I was doing quality control and eating all day long. Then would sit down and have lunch. Right. So again, my epiphany was emotional, but it was also. Habits went to hell, buh bye. My habits of life changed. But I didn't change my life. I just kept doing the same things. But not including the exercise. Not including the happiness, I used to have." Please join me in the amazing episode with my dear friend Adrienne. She tells her amazing weight loss story. She has lost over 80lbs, quit her job, and created her business called "Healthy Angles." Listening for the Signs
"The thing is when something like this happens and you are just put to a screeching halt unexpectedly, there's always gifts inside. I really could have been angry, pointed fingers, and hung on to that negative energy but I chose to see the the upside of it. Where where are the positives here and what are the gifts that are inside of this? And I'm really, really grateful to be able to be in a space in my life to to see things in that perspective." In this episode I share a very personal story about an injury that had recently occurred, how it woke me up to some things and generated awareness, in addition to all of the gifts that were inside of the unfortunate unexpected event.
