EP 89- Zack Hughes- How Being A Green Beret Helps in Business
Zack Hughes- How Being A Green Beret Helps in Business Why do veterans make the best entrepreneurs? Because they are the hungriest, the toughest, the most persistent, and the most resourceful people in existence. And even if you've never found yourself in a literal battle, picking up some of those skills will change the way you show up in your business forever. Zack Hughes is a former Green Beret with the Special Forces, whose military career ended with an injury sustained during a tour in Afghanistan. Following his time as a soldier, Zack became the COO of Elite Meet and was inspired to co-found the Operators Association, a community designed to motivate, mentor, and support up-and-coming Special Operators. On this episode of No Bull Business and Brews, hosts Jason and Steve jam with Zack on Zack’s early days as a young man who wanted to serve and who became a leader very quickly (and unexpectedly), the ambush that left Zack injured and set him on a new trajectory, the ups and downs of transitioning to civilian life and business, how soldiers and businesses can each benefit from the other's skills and experience, and how Zach and his team are preparing the next generations of exceptional operators. Tune in for an impactful interview with an American warrior who's been at the top as a soldier and an entrepreneur. What You’ll Learn: How Zach earned a solid reputation with his new team through a combination of hard work, life experience, and a sense of how to provide real value to others What combat looks like in real life to those in the middle of it (because it's nothing like the movies) Why the most famously "cringe-y" social media platform out there actually ended up being one of the foundations of Zack's incredible success on social media And much more! Favorite Quote: "And truly, what I found big-picture here is another mission, something to get behind, something to be passionate for… I don't know how many of those you get in life. And so for me to be able to be still with my guys, I get to be around people that are constantly fighting for their dreams and their purpose. And I gotta be honest with you guys, I'm just glad to be around people that are hungry as shit every day now." -Zack Hughes Connect with Zack: How To Get Involved:

EP 80- Joe Curry, Founder of Personal Brand Secrets: From Homelessness to Happiness
It takes a long time to build an empire, and a matter of moments to destroy them. One of the most powerful things a human being can know is how to be an empire builder. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication, leadership, the ability to masterfully delegate, and a tremendous amount of focus and intention. If we’re not careful, our ego will create an environment for us to lose all of that and cause the downfall of our empire. The great news is, once you’ve lost it all, your ability to get it back never goes away. Experience earned is experience gained and is very much like muscle memory. The time for rebuilding is much shorter the second time around. Joe Cury is the founder of Personal Brand Secrets, focused on working with entrepreneurs to become the trusted authority in their marketplace by leveraging marketing, social media, sales, and a savage follow-up game. Today, Jason, Steve, and Joe dive in deep as Joe shares his journey from a successful entrepreneur in the Dominican Republic making $30,000 a month in the restaurant industry, to becoming homeless, in the United States with $3.00 to his name. Joe is very candid about how he allowed his ego to get out of control in his early days in business. At the age of 22, his business was burnt to the ground by a competitor. His initial thought was to kill him or start his life over. Joe shares a little about the trauma from his childhood, his trust issues, and the thing that inspired him to avoid suicide and continue his pursuit of what’s possible. This episode will inspire anyone at any level in business. What You’ll Learn: How old Joe was when he was left alone as a child Depression What it feels like to wreck a Lambo and a Corvette The one product Joe sold in school as one of his first side hustles The average monthly salary in the Dominican Republic Why Joe was crying at 3 am one night What happened 45 days after Joe lost his wife, his business, and almost his life One famous influencer who inspired Joe to buy his very first self-development course The one fear Joe had of sleeping on the street How he stopped being homophobic The breakthrough Joe had when he started delivering fliers around Miami How to become a multi-millionaire by doing this one simple trick for leaders Where Joe got his inspiration in the early days of rebuilding his life And much more! Favorite Quote: “I started learning from how the owner of Wal-Mart to find out how he was doing X, Y, and Z. I started delivering fliers here in Miami and thought, what if I become the best motherfucker in fliers in the whole world? EP 78- Andre Allison, Steve Taylor and Jason Graybeal: If You Really Want Something, YOU Have to Be Committed
Look out! Jr. is back this episode by popular demand requested by Randy Cooper. Today’s episode is chock-full of beers and shit-talking, but only because Jason is finally done with the 75 Hard challenge. You’re in for a real treat on today’s program. They start off talking about the grueling process of going through 75 Hard and the journey that took Jason from Fluffy to an Ambercrombie and Fitch or Hollister model. It’s 75 days of no alcohol, reading 10 pages daily in a non-fiction book, and exercising twice per day; one indoors and one outdoors. 75 gallons of water later and 75 selfies, Jason is in peak physical condition and ready to rock and roll. Today’s episode is all about commitment. There are going to be days when you would rather eat the ice cream instead of the salad, but the point is those who are truly committed, do the hard things anyway. Steve hits hard on the truth about if human beings are lazy, or if we’re smart because we like to go the easy way. Our commitments we keep all begin with ourselves. Jason chimes in with the brutal truth of why we avoid commitment. Much of it has to do with our physiological makeup. He asks the earth-shattering question, “How bad do you really want it?” Andre chimes in with what things look like if you don’t actually do what you committed to. He shares how many of the things we have, the lifestyle we live keeps us comfortable, and the fact that there really are no consequences. Steve shares how in his previous career, he got to a place where he didn’t care. Didn’t give a fuck. Didn’t want to do anything. When he started at Graybeal Solutions, he decided he wanted to go to the gym again. He has not quit since then because of the commitment he chose to keep to himself. If you can’t keep your word to yourself, you can’t keep it to anyone else, and this affects your integrity with yourself, your family, and your clients as someone who can’t be counted on. If you can’t be counted on in life, you’ll be counted out. This is a great killer episode that questions your true level of commitment. Lean in and take notes. And when you’re done, make a decision about how committed you are going to be. Everything in your life after that will determine whether or not you have a magnificent life. EP 68- Jason Graybeal and Steve Taylor: What's Done Today, Shows Up Tomorrow (FLASHBACK)
What is the most likely consequence of not having a plan for your business? It is comparable to a ship without a rudder, purposeless and not definite about its destination. A business presumably would fail in such a state. You might have a killer idea for your business, but without planning, you might wonder how you should go about it. So how do you create a plan for your business? Jason says, “You can’t create the plan until you know where you want to go.” A proper plan is a roadmap directing you to your desired goal.
