Im Oktober 2018 wurde sie für das Team Köllensperger in den Südtiroler Landtag gewählt. Maria Elisabeth Riedersetzt sich für die großen Probleme aber auch für kleine Gruppen und Einzelpersonen ein. Sie engagiert sich für Verteilungsgerechtigkeit und die Möglichkeit Chancen wahrzunehmen. Das sind die Grundpfeiler einer „gerechten Gesellschaft“.
