WHAT'S WRONG WITH AMERICA?
Welcome to The "What's Wrong With America?" Podcast! In this show, we examine the USA's culture, economy, financial system, legal system, criminal justice system, tax code, etc., with the goal of determining what's gone wrong, what's gone well, and how we can make America better. Some episodes will focus on particular evergreen subjects, like racism or education. Also, there will be weekly topical episodes about whatever happens to be in the news. With 2020 being an election year featuring some really crazy candidates, there will likely be a lot to talk about! The show's host is Daniel D, a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none kind of guy. In addition to this show, Daniel D also produces and hosts The Crazy Comedy, Humor & Satire Podcast and writes on a variety of subjects. FROM MY STANDPOINT
In an age where perception is fact and negativity and conflict remain entertainment, it can be difficult and sometimes troubling to find a positive and try and understand another’s perspective. Join Josh C. Jones, an author, teacher, speaker, and more, as he discusses different topics in an attempt to showcase a differing perspective with a nugget of positivity and truth. Let's ask those questions, travel some of those logical thought trails, think outside the current culture's accepted cognition, and find some valuable information, which could very well bring hope, understanding, and a proper perspective to our lives. With these podcast episodes, as with my books and writings, I hope to help you rebuild your faith, reignite your hope, overcome depression, open that dialogue, and reach your destiny of richness, success, and life.
WEAPONS OF MEME DESTRUCTION
Join Dane & David for your weekly dose of irreverent political & cultural commentary! Weapons of Meme Destruction takes aim at society's conventional opinions. Our view is that conventional wisdom isn't always so wise. By destroying society's memes of "respectable opinion", we arm our community with their own weapons to call out BS when they see it. Instead of giving you the same stale, puny candy bar in a different wrapper, we are serving up king-sized candy bars chock full of chocolate covered nuts of truth! Enjoy our nuts! https://wmdpodcast.com
PERSPECTIVE 2020
Perspective 2020 is about self-awareness, honesty, genuine dialogue, and - as the name suggests - perspective. The coronavirus pandemic makes it clearer than ever that we let the differences between us overwhelm our ability to be decent, understanding, compassionate human beings. And it's time for that to change. Host Kara Credle talks with people from different backgrounds, working different jobs, perceiving the world in unique, personal ways. Listeners are challenged and encouraged to seek out in particular the perspectives that are most unfamiliar to them.
ADA AT 30: ACCESSIBILITY IN PITTSBURGH
"Let the shameful wall of exclusion come tumbling down.” As the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 was signed, President George H.W. Bush spoke those words. If you live long enough, you’ll develop a disability—if you don’t already have one. The 30-year-old act promises that despite that, you’ll easily cross streets, hold a job and live as independently as possible. How’s that working for us? This five-part podcast brings Pittsburgh-area people with disabilities finding their place in towns, stores and faith communities. The program is produced by PublicSource in collaboration with Unabridged Press and supported by The FISA Foundation. The Center for Media Innovation at Point Park University provided technical assistance.
COME TEACH IT
Come Teach It is a show about the rewarding and fulfilling experiences of the teaching lifestyle. We hope it serves as a vehicle to spread positive messages about the field of education, which too often suffers from purely negative PR. We are talking to people who embody the teaching lifestyle and have stories of success in a profession they are passionate about. This podcast looks to pay homage to the art and science of the teaching craft by talking to people of various industries who have taken the time to reflect on it.
