FORGOTTEN AMERICA
Welcome to Forgotten America, a podcast about the many places that get flown over, driven past, or completely forgotten and the people who call these places home. In each episode, we’ll diagnose the unique challenges faced by rural America and unpack and explore the solutions to those challenges. We’ll also share the culture, stories, and perspectives of Forgotten Americans from the hilltop to the holler and the desert to the delta.
OHLONE MENTAL HEALTH EDITION
Have you ever thought about disconnecting from your phone? What would you do to fill that void?! Or what it is like to transfer to a State or University from a Community College? Note to Self: The Ohlone Mental Health edition provides a space for students to learn or connect with other student experiences and discover the resources available to them on campus or within the community. This podcast also educates, supports, and destigmatizes mental health-related issues or situations, while also empowering students to focus on self-care and caring for those around them.
A MOMENT OF COMFORT
A Moment Of Comfort is just that--a space to reflect on a small good thing about life. Like a cup of good soup with a side of crusty bread, it's a reprieve from the anxiety of our current world. From freshly laundered linens to a good stretch, the perfect playlist to an unexpected text from a far-flung friend, these short audio essays revel in the good things nearly anyone can appreciate.
BLOOMSBURY ACADEMIC PODCAST
More than just a book talk. Each episode is its own unique forum, bringing Bloomsbury authors and experts to the front of the conversation and tackling key issues in today’s culture, both in academia and beyond. This show is for everyone interested in expanding their learning outside the classroom and exploring the difficult discussions taking place in society every day.
ANY QUESTIONS?
We choose to highlight themes that aren't usually talked about in the wellness presentations that we deliver on campus. That's because a lot of wellness topics, and the topics we discuss in this podcast, may be a bit more nuanced, complex, or are sometimes difficult discussing in a short presentation or a group setting. While they may be personal, complex, or sometimes uncomfortable, we get asked these questions and want to create a platform where we can explore them in an accessible way for students. So pop in your ear buds on your walk to class and get a sense of what we get asked and what we have to say on Any Questions?
