Join Jill this week as she discusses the difference between someone feeling truly heard versus someone hijacking a group setting. She uses the example of a Zoom call in which two participants dominated the conversation, going on lengthy tangents instead of following the facilitator's instructions. Jill offers the possibility that such behavior is not meant to be malicious and discusses some possible reasons for it, including nervous system dysregulation, ego protection, and general lack of self-awareness. As the leader of a group, Jill stresses the importance of politely yet firmly redirecting...

This week on Be YOU, join Jill as she revisits an exercise from in which listeners were asked to do a "brain dump" of their fears and worries and then rewrite/reframe them in positive ways. She encourages listeners to continue doing this exercise, even affirming that many people around the world are participating! The key part of the exercise now? As Jill explains, be aware of when you are speaking your fears and worries out loud, and immediately "flip the script" by saying the positive version out loud instead. Jill gives some examples, like if you find yourself complaining about someone...

Although she is in disbelief that she is finally saying this, welcome to the 300th episode of the Be YOU podcast! This week, Jill shares some highlights from the recent four-hour BeYOULive event where more than 150 women from around the world came together to celebrate 300 episodes and being themselves! At its heart, the event was really all about helping women let go of the “masks” they wear in everyday life - roles, behaviors, and ways that they see themselves that are preventing them from showing up as their true selves. Through a series of exercises, attendants, without shame or...

We are getting so close to the upcoming BE YOU event celebrating five years and 300 episodes of the podcast, and this week, Jill is providing listeners with some important details - both reminders and updates - about the event. She stresses that while this episode is primarily for listeners who are definitely going to the event, everyone else is invited to listen as well in case you’re on the fence about whether or not you want to go and/or just want an idea of the energy and atmosphere that will be experienced at the event.
Jill encourages listeners to find ways to seek out the same sense of authenticity, connection, and support that will be present at the event, whether it be through creating your own gatherings or your own social circles, and she stresses that the event is about dropping masks, letting go of competition and comparison, and simply being yourself!
For those who are attending the event, listen in as Jill provides some helpful details, from the event schedule to the dress code (which is essentially no dress code at all). She promises attendees that the event is designed to make them feel safe, seen, and held, without any pressure for vulnerability or deep work beyond what they are comfortable with. She also shares her vision for the event, a place where women can simply be themselves without feeling a need to perform or impress.
Ultimately, Jill invites listeners to fully embrace the opportunity, whether attending the event or finding ways to create a similar experience in your own lives, and she passionately encourages an attitude of openness, surrender, and trust in the process as she promises that the event will be a transformative and literally unique experience!
Join Jill for a short and sweet episode this week as she discusses the importance of being mindful of our words. She invites listeners to join her in a special exercise over the next few weeks, explaining that she feels called to do a "tuneup,” or a period of self-reflection and reprogramming of her mindset. Jill encourages listeners to make a thorough list of all their worries, fears, and negative thought patterns. After releasing that via writing, she suggests connecting with nature, doing some movement and breathwork, and then reframing those negative thoughts into positive affirmations.
Jill highlights the power of our words and how they can shape our reality, sharing some examples of how speaking positively, even exaggeratedly, about relationships and situations can help manifest that reality. Listeners are invited to write out these positive affirmations, display them, and read them aloud daily, connecting to a higher power or their own inner wisdom!
Jill reveals how she plans to do this exercise alongside listeners over the next two months, sharing the changes that she notices not just in herself but also in the people and circumstances around her. She encourages listeners to make this practice their own and trust their intuition.
Jill also, of course, reminds listeners that there are still tickets available for the upcoming live 300th episode event! Get your ticket now before it's too late!
