➡️ Anthony Admire, MD, explains his extremely lean start and then growing to multiple plastic surgery practice locations.
Hello, and welcome to "Beauty and the Biz," where we'll discuss the business and marketing side of plastic surgery.
As always, I'm your host, Catherine Maley, author of "Your Aesthetic Practice – What Your Patients Are Saying." and consultant to plastic surgeons, helping them get more patients and more profits.
Extremely lean start to multiple locations. Specifically, learn how to grow from one employee to multiple locations and a multi-specialty surgery center.
First, Dr. Anthony Admire is a board-certified plastic surgeon. Additionally, he is the founder of AdmireMD Plastic Surgery and AdmireMD Skin & Wellness Clinic. Specifically, these clinics are located in Scottsdale and Arcadia, Arizona. Currently, his operation includes two locations. Furthermore, he owns full-service aesthetic and wellness clinics. Moreover, he operates a 16,000-square-foot multispecialty surgery center. However, that is not how he started. Initially, Dr. Admire opened his private practice with minimal resources.
-
Namely, he had one employee and two treatment rooms.
-
Additionally, he operated in less than 1,000 square feet.
-
Plus, he had no Instagram or dedicated marketing team.
-
Likewise, he avoided business loans.
Instead, he answered the phones and responded to inquiries himself. Furthermore, he removed sutures and handled his own marketing. Therefore, his advice to younger surgeons is simple. Ultimately, you must stay lean. Now, tune in to this week’s "Beauty and the Biz" podcast. Accordingly, Dr. Admire shares his strategic evolution. Gradually, he moved away from doing nearly every type of plastic surgery. Eventually, he built a highly focused and sophisticated aesthetic practice. Specifically, you will hear his growth strategies on "Beauty and the Biz".
-
First, he transitioned from an exhausting university position into private practice.
-
Next, he expanded without starting with an expensive office.
-
Then, he built a multispecialty ambulatory surgery center.
-
Later, he brought in strategic partners.
-
Additionally, he learned to track profit and loss statements.
-
Similarly, he mastered tracking the cost of goods, provider compensation, and patient acquisition.
Thus, do not add more space or overhead yet. Rather, listen to how Dr. Admire built his foundation first on the "Beauty and the Biz" podcast. Consequently, he expanded only when the practice could support it.
Ultimately, Dr. Admire built strategically by understanding his numbers. Furthermore, he controlled expenses and focused on growth. Similarly, your Practice Performance Audit gives you that same objective view of your practice. Consequently, you can stop guessing and make smarter decisions.
