We tend to forget that a marriage takes two to tango. And that means, when your spouse hurts, you hurt. But if all we do is focus on ourselves and don't really "see" our spouse, we can miss what's right in front of us. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at...

There are so many things that come up in marriage that directly or indirectly affect our mental well-being. But if we don't stop to recognize or take mental note, we keep loading the trucks and living our habits.
Couples may struggle to openly communicate their feelings and thoughts, leading to misunderstandings and emotional distance. And if you are hiding emotions, they are not the good ones that hang around. It's the destructive emotions that keep you on the ground.
Then, you interject the fear of how your spouse sees you, like being judged or criticized, which in itself hinders them from sharing their innermost thoughts or emotions. It can get a little bit wacky!
And we're not finished yet. What about all that past baggage that you and your spouse are carrying. Past experience or unresolved issues can create barriers to honest and open communication, leading to a mix of realities. That's destructive to a person and to the marriage.
Just because life is crazy and the chaos has more of our attention, doesn't mean that you discount your sweetheart! You must stay in tune with where your spouse is emotionally, or you will have a totally different situation to deal with.
Don't let the demands of work, family, and daily responsibilities create a wedge or even a mountain that you all can't overcome.
It's time to be intentionally on the marriage you really desire and that comes with the mental health of your spouse.
When you create mindful moments to prioritize mental well-being in your marriage, you can then strengthen your emotional bond and promote a deeper sense of connection, a stronger marriage.
So if you want a thriving marriage, take time and look at the mind.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Take time and look at the mind!
If your excuses are all about how busy you are, what you still have to do, and what the kids need, you are missing the most important person: your spouse. Take the time and look at the mind. And that's their mind, and yours.
What does it look like to foster a supportive environment for your partner's mental health?
1. Sit 'n Listen: Set aside regular time to sit and truly listen to your spouse without judgment or distractions. Show empathy and validation for their feelings and experiences. The goal needs to be to create a safe space for honest conversations about how they are feeling. Encourage your partner to share their thoughts, concerns, and needs without fear of criticism. You need to be there to hold them up, not keep score of their wrongs!
2. Be Intentional in the Silence: You have a greater effect on your spouse with what is not shared, and what your body and looks say. If you are mad, watch out how your face shows it. Your spouse sees more than what you say. And the same goes for you, right? You see more than what your spouse says. So be intentional in the silence and be kind to those who are in front of you!
3. Wrap Your Spouse in Gratitude: Think of it as the grateful hug. Express your gratitude for your sweetheart's support and care, and acknowledge the effort they put into maintaining their mental health. Small gestures of appreciation can go a long way in strengthening your bond.
Remember, creating mindful moments for mental well-being in your marriage is an ongoing process that requires patience, understanding, and love. By prioritizing each other's mental health and well-being, you can build a resilient and supportive relationship that stands the test of time.
"Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!"
