info_outlineWelcome to the next episode of the Inside Devon podcast, today we are joined by Jess Magill of Powderkeg Brewery.
In 2015 Jess founded Powderkeg brewery with her husband John. They make modern English beer in keg, cask and bottle, with a general incitement to rebellion.
Powderkeg take the influence of American craft beer, the exotic hops and modern techniques, and combine it with British reserve and elegance. Their beer is conditioned to perfection at the brewery with the process taking between 5 and 7 weeks. The result is consistently delicious beer, subtly complex and very more-ish.
The Brewery has an impressive list of accolades including UK’s best premium lager ‘Cut Loose’ from the Society of Independent Brewers. Their ground-breaking low alcohol pale ale ‘Green Light’ won the UK’s Best Low Alcohol Pale Ale at the World Beer Awards 2019.
During the show we talk about her career journey, the concept behind Powderkeg, the beer making process and their plans for the future. We also speak about a range of other interesting topics.
I really enjoyed my chat with Jess and I hope you do to.
