Markets have rallied for four straight sessions and are once again pressing toward all-time highs. With price action improving, markets are close to coming off a momentum sell signal—and if upside follow-through holds, that shift could occur as soon as today. A confirmed breakout would provide much-needed “wind beneath the wings” for investor confidence heading deeper into earnings season. Today’s focus turns to several mega-cap earnings reports, where recent pullbacks have created short-term trading opportunities. Apple reports this week following a notable selloff, leaving the stock...

The Real Investment Show Podcast

Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are once again at the center of investor debate—but for very different reasons than past cycles. Lance Roberts and special guest, DeFi Development Corp's COO, Parker White, examine what’s been happening beneath the surface of the crypto market, including the growing divide between older and younger Bitcoin cohorts and the increasing fractionalization of crypto ownership. Is Bitcoin’s volatility evolving in a way that allows it to function as a portfolio diversifier, especially when compared to traditional hedges, like gold? What is its potential role in an...

The Real Investment Show Podcast

Betting markets are increasingly pointing to Kevin Warsh as a potential successor to Jerome Powell, with Kevin Hassett expected to remain in his White House role under Donald Trump. Which begs the question: What would a Warsh-led Federal Reserve actually bring to markets? Lance Roberts & Michael Lebowitz explore the possibilities of a Warsh Fed: Would such likely be more tolerant of volatility, rely less on emergency interventions, and place greater emphasis on valuation, fundamentals, and disciplined policy rules? 0:00 INTRO 0:18 - Earnings, Economics, & Imminent Greenland Deal 2:48 -...

The Real Investment Show Podcast

Markets are continuing to digest the recent break below the rising trendline, which has now turned into overhead resistance. Wednesday’s rally attempt stalled precisely at that level before selling pressure resumed. Momentum remains on a sell signal, suggesting near-term upside could stay limited, and a bit more volatility would not be surprising over the next several sessions. Importantly, buyers are still present, waiting for better entry points. This is why reacting emotionally to a single down day can be costly. Let price action confirm whether there is real follow-through or simply...

The Real Investment Show Podcast

Markets broke lower on Tuesday, falling out of a consolidation wedge after weekend headlines reignited policy uncertainty. In the process, the market violated multiple technical support levels at once—including the 20-day and 50-day moving averages—triggering a short-term momentum sell signal and increasing volatility. While the downside move erased several layers of support in a single session, this is not the time for panic selling. Markets quickly shifted from overbought to oversold conditions, and history shows that moving-average violations are often followed by sharp reflex rallies....

Is buying a house still a good investment—or has the market pulled too much future return forward? Lance Roberts & Jonathan Penn break down the housing investment debate through a time-horizon lens, comparing housing to stocks, examining historical “win rates,” and explaining why transaction costs, leverage, and holding period matter far more in real estate than most buyers realize. 0:00 INTRO 0:19 - Moving into the Heart of Earnings Season 5:36 - Markets' Price Consolidation Breaks to the Downside 9:51 - Lance & Jonathan's Weekend Recap 11:36 - Collegiate Investors - Be Careful...

The Real Investment Show Podcast

Markets are breaking down from a rising wedge pattern, triggering a short-term momentum sell signal. Downside targets include the 50-DMA near 6,810 and the 100-DMA around 6,720—both important support levels to monitor. A 2–5% pullback is not unusual and is part of the normal investing process. While selling pressure may continue for a few sessions as sellers move lower to meet buyers, this does not signal the start of a major market downturn. Tariff headlines may create short-term noise, but they do not materially alter forward earnings expectations for major U.S. companies or the broader...

Apple reports this week following a notable selloff, leaving the stock technically oversold. In that setup, it may not take a dramatic earnings beat to generate upside momentum. Options markets are currently implying a 4–7% move, assuming results surprise to the upside. The key risk, however, lies less in the earnings print and more in forward guidance—strong results paired with cautious outlooks can still disappoint.

Amazon continues to consolidate sideways, while Microsoft has rallied into earnings and recently triggered a momentum buy signal despite facing overhead resistance. A better-than-expected report could be enough to push shares through those levels. Meta, though slightly overbought short term, remains in a broader oversold context and could also benefit from positive earnings surprises.

Taken together, recent pullbacks across several Mag-7 stocks appear to have formed a tradable bottom—not necessarily a durable one, but one that presents tactical opportunity as earnings drive near-term price action. As always, risk management matters most as volatility tends to rise around earnings announcements.
