info_outlineOn this week’s episode of ScaleUp Radio I’m talking to Rob Stone.
Rob has actually been on ScaleUp Radio before, talking about the formation and growth of Instaloft, which is now in it’s 8th year, and there’s a link to Rob’s previous appearance in the show here.
But we invited Rob back onto the podcast because he’s just been awarded Entrepreneur Of The Year 2022 at the UK Business Awards and we wanted to hear about what led up to the award, and how his business has grown even further since we last spoke to him.
As you’ll hear, Rob is now overseeing something that is more of a business empire with many businesses being formed or acquired to join Instaloft.
We covered a lot of subjects during our conversations including:
- Look closely and where you are spending money. You might be able to bring some of that outgoing cash into the business by creating a new department, or arm of the company.
- Finding the positive in the negative. For Rob, an accident led to him having to make sure that the business could survive without him, and that enquiries could be taken by someone other than him.
- When you’re figuring out your pricing, do your research and see what the average is in your industry - but don’t sell you, or your knowledge and experience, short. As you’ll hear, Rob had a pretty rare start with his pricing.
Rob is a fascinating business owner, with an incredible story that will surely help to inspire and motivate you in your own scale up journey
