Johanna lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband Jared, 2-year-old son, Max, and 2 cats. Johanna works for the City of New York, in the Mayor's Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Johanna has been at OMB for 5 years and is currently the Deputy Assistant Director for the Education Task Force. She manages a stellar team of 11 to oversee the budgets of the Department of Education and City University of New York which together total $34 billion. Johanna and Jared met in grad school where they both enrolled in the Urban Policy program at the New School. Johanna and Jared have been married for about 4 years and handle the day-to-day of parenting with the help of flexible jobs, family nearby, and a nanny for a few hours a week
