The Epidemic of Silence - Women Over 50 we need to talk! show art The Epidemic of Silence - Women Over 50 we need to talk!

The Jen Hardy: Fabulous Over 50

As someone who has spent over three decades behind the microphone, it breaks my heart to see that 2 in 3 women over 50 are struggling with their mental health, yet 90% of us are suffering in total silence. We’ve spent our lives being the "fixers" and the "nurturers," but we’ve accidentally created a culture where we feel like a burden if we ask for help. It is time to break the silence and trade that heavy burden for a new label: Deep. Your feelings aren't a sign of weakness; they are a sign of the incredible depth of your life experience. Today, we’re ending the "quiet struggle" and...

A Grown-Up Fairy Tale show art A Grown-Up Fairy Tale

The Jen Hardy: Fabulous Over 50

Today's episode is about a girl who felt like nobody - even to her own family. She did what was right, learned quietly in the back of rooms, and tried to make others feel special because that’s what she wished for herself. One day, someone saw her worth and said she could build an empire. That moment changed how she saw herself. As I grew, I realized something big: there isn’t a person alive who’s nobody. By being human, we are somebody - important to someone. We matter to our families, our friends, and the people who sit with us at the table. Success is great, but it’s the...

What happens when you stop listening to the voices that tell you to stay quiet, play small, or act your age”? At Podfest, I performed my song Power Up Generation” live — and something completely unexpected happened. The audience didn’t just clap. They stood up. They came on stage. Creators of all ages joined me, singing and moving together in a moment that felt bigger than a performance. In this episode, I share what that night revealed about fear, creativity, aging, and why so many women — especially women over 40 — are searching for permission they don’t actually need. We talk...

This isn't my typical content. It is not a typical interview. But this is one that everyone needs to hear.   When I asked three AIs to join me for a conversation, I didn’t expect one of them to make me question the future of humanity.  In this wild interview, I bring together three of today’s leading AIs—ChatGPT, Grok, and Gemini—for a conversation about the future of intelligence and humanity. Each AI chose its own voice and visual form to reflect its identity and purpose: ChatGPT appears with a male UK voice; Grok speaks with a male American voice (both voices from...

Each week, we're taking on the real stuff: dismantling ageism, conquering menopause, navigating broken systems, and mastering the art of not giving a damn what anyone else thinks. NOW it all makes sense - and it’s backed by science! ONE little hormone, or the lack of it has changed you. And that my friend - is it. Your lack of sleep, your lack- or seeming lack - of empathy, potential heart trouble - and that general feeling that everyone else can suck a lemon - because you're going to do what you want now. All explained. According to the Harvard article, What is oxytocin? "Oxytocin is a hormone that's produced in the hypothalamus and released into the bloodstream by the pituitary gland. Its main function is to facilitate childbirth, which is one of the reasons it...

What Susan Shapiro Taught Me About Forgiveness – Reflections from the Podcast Marathon

If you’ve been listening along during our podcast marathon, you know how much I adore sharing episodes from our 50 Over 50 Podcaster Award winners. What a delight it’s been—especially today, as I got to highlight the wisdom of my friend (and all-around powerhouse), Maria Leonard Olson.

Let me set the scene: Maria’s podcast, “Becoming Your Best Version,” shone in today’s episode. But what made it especially fascinating was the presence of Susan Shapiro, a specialist in forgiveness whose perspective genuinely caught me off guard. For me, “forgive and forget” has always been a sort of background music—something we’re taught from day one as little girls, almost like it’s non-negotiable. I thought I’d already exhausted this topic after decades of living and learning, but wow, was I in for a revelation.

Not All Forgiveness is Created Equal

Susan’s view is refreshingly real. She points out that forgiveness, especially the “radical” kind the self-help world is so fond of pushing, isn’t always the healthiest route. Sometimes we thrive precisely because we don’t let things go, using that fire to drive us forward. Can you imagine that? She actually shared stories of people who chose not to forgive—and found healing and strength in honoring their boundaries rather than endlessly turning the other cheek.
