96 - Pricing Conversations: The $4-7K Sweet Spot
What if the pricing range you're trying to rush your way out of is actually the most strategic place in the wedding photography industry to build from? So many photographers are sitting right in the $4–7K range, doing really well, and quietly believing they should be farther along by now – charging 8K, 10K, 15K, because that's what Instagram makes success look like. In this episode of the Pricing Conversations series, I'm making the case for why this range gives you more inquiries, real selectivity, and add-ons that actually sell, and why mastering it is what makes everything after it possible. We're talking about what the wedding day itself feels like in this range, the math of booking 20 weddings at 6K, and why your albums, film add-ons, engagement sessions, and extra coverage hours convert here more easily than anywhere else. I'm also sharing what genuinely changes the moment your starting price passes 7K – because a 10K photography business isn't a bigger version of the one you have now, it's a different business with a different client, a different acquisition strategy, and a different kind of currency. I wish someone had explained that to me before I made the jump myself. And then there's the part I think is the most important: the single most common thing that breaks a photography business that's already working is boredom. I'm sharing exactly what happened to one of my students when she changed what was converting, what it cost her, and what happened when she went back. Because familiar to you is brand new to your client, friend. In this episode of All Angles Photography Podcast, you will learn: Why the $4–7K range creates more inquiries and real selectivity, and how to find the pricing dead zone in your own market How to build add-ons and higher packages that couples genuinely want, so your average booking climbs without raising your base price What actually changes when you move past 7K – your point of contact, your acquisition, your client experience, your systems, and your positioning Why you should only change what's working when your numbers tell you to, and the three things to check before you raise your prices again Show Notes: Featured Offerings or Resources Mentioned in this Episode: – doors open in October, and waitlist members get first access to a special surprise I'm offering for the first time ever – my $67 Serve to Sell Framework™ for leading your discovery call with confidence, connection, and a natural close that doesn't feel salesy, including the full yes ladder training (podcast listener discount code: PODSQUAD) – for photographers ready to scale what's already working, including associate teams : The Real Reason You're Not Booking at Your Current Prices : How to Share Pricing as a Photographer : The Difference Between a $5,000 Wedding Photographer and a $10,000 Wedding Photographer Claire's Instagram:
