1462 Where Does the Time Go? How unfair is it when you are wanting to give your family everything only to be left with little time at the end of the day? Where does the time go? You give all of yourself making sure to keep the routine and structure of day to be productive as a woman, wife, and mother. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at . You know those moments when you are consumed by what your children are doing throughout their day. You pause just long enough to inhale very slowly hoping to slow down time. Where does the time go? How is it that you trying to be the best mother makes you feel more like coming in last place for a contest you didn't even enter? This mom thing is very complicated the more you immerse yourself. It doesn't seem fair that you have to pick and choose at times. Your children over your business. Your children over your spouse. Your children over "ME" time. Your children over a clean house. Your children over a better car. Then all you hear around you is the buzzing of how successful all these other mothers are. So what's your problem? Why can't you get your act together? Why can't you organize better? Why can't you make decisions better? Because if you could do all of that right, you wouldn't be wondering about how the day has escaped you. Where does the time go? As children, time is in the moment. There is never worry or concern about what is going to happen during tax season. When are you going to schedule vacation this year. All they experience is the day in which they are present. Yes, there is some planning in their minds as to what's to come. But their "what's to come" is no further than following that next moment. For example: Why do you think children are so surprised when it's the BIG event like vacation? Yesterday is too far away for them to live in reality. And the repetitive question.... Are we there yet? They are simply present in the moment. Conscious of the time they see which is what is right in front of them. Now as they get older and need to plan ahead, it becomes a greater challenge. They are thrown into planning for the future after living the majority of their lives in the moment. So there you are questioning what you have accomplished for the day? Surely I should have been able to do more. Where does the time go? This is where we as adults can learn from children. The K.I.S.S. ~ Let tomorrow worry about itself. Be present today. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. ~ Matthew 6:34 There is no reason to beat yourself up because the clock is ticking faster than you think it should. You are just more aware of how the time moves. Structure your day focusing on the moment. This way the worry will fade a little allowing you to accomplish more, because your mind isn't distracted from the clicking of the second hand on the clock. Construct routines that support the flow of your day. If you know that you have activities in the afternoon to the evening, working out then maybe next to impossible. Or you might be overly tired. Workout in the morning instead. Simplify by being present in whatever you do. Take it from the Kids Life Book. Let the distraction appear when you show up in that moment. 1460 How To Curb Cravings Tired of having your health hijacked? Learn how to curb cravings so the chore of eating becomes more of an enjoyment. Food was created to nourish and fuel the body. Even with the basic necessities of nutrition, food was also designed to be enjoyed with family and friends. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at . However, most of us eat out of habit or feelings. We never stop long enough to consider the ramifications of our actions. So we either continue down the path of how we were raised, or fall into a lifestyle out of pure ease and convenience. Most of our failures are because of the chemical reactions hijacking our biology, cells, hormones, and brain. Talk about mixed signals. Are you getting this? When the pleasure center is stimulated, you want more of what you are getting. So you overindulge in yummy goodness leading you down "CRAVE STREET"! No time to cave. Have no fear, the rescue is here. The K.I.S.S. ~ Psych out your own cravings! You remember the days when you needed to psych yourself out for a test, asking to dance with that special young man, or asking for a raise. Use your tenacity and psych out your own cravings! In order to rid yourself of the addiction, you have to remove the addiction. If God made it, you can eat it! Cut out the processed foods. Stay clear of gluten, dairy, and all forms of sugar and sweeteners (including artificial ones). No more grains, starchy vegetables (like potatoes), beans, and fruit. If you want fruit, go for berries. Watch what you drink; the inflammatory beverages like coffee, alcohol, soda, and juices. Fill your mouth with... Lots of non-starchy vegetables. Think GREENS! Protein anytime you eat. Hydrate with lots of water! Healthy serving of fat like avocado, coconut oil, nut/seed oil, nut butter, etc. While you are keeping your fuel clean, be sure to walk! Yesterday was the CFP National Championship 2019 between #1 Alabama and #2 Clemson. Now that the college season is over, it's all about the NFL playoffs followed by the Super Bowl. You may not be a sports fanatic or have any interest in football. However, there is one coach that is teaching beyond the field. Coach Matt Nagy, the head coach for the Chicago Bears, has on his play card to "BE YOU!". () Credit: “We all got here our own ways,” Nagy said. “We created our own paths. 1458 What's in a Word? What's in a word? Mark Twain once said, "I can live for two months on a good compliment." Words have power. The sentences you use are filled with stones or seeds. You are either using them to kill your confidence or to grow your mind. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at . Too many times we are destroying the exact thing we are trying to build. Dreams Aspirations Better health Thriving marriage Strong family Incredible career But instead of building up that which the world tears down, you add to the chaos. Confusion with contractions holds you back from precisely pursuing your purpose. English 101 - Do not use contractions in your writing. If you aren't supposed to use contractions in writing, why do we use it in speaking? Contractions take away; nothing is added except empty space with a dangling comma in the air. But that's what's happening. This space allows for a multitude of second-guessing. A time to hone in on the negative and not the positive. It gives power to what you see as improbable, not possible. If you took heed to what Mark Twain said, "I can live for two months on a good compliment," imagine what would happen if you chose kindness daily in your word usage. "Your kindness will reward you, but your cruelty will destroy you." ~ Proverbs 11:17 (NLT) The K.I.S.S. ~ Choose words of kindness to grow your dream! Your internal dialogue will either benefit your life or take away a little bit at a time. And this little bit adds up. Start with awareness of the contractions --- all the stones, the nots! Think about David and Goliath. He had a slingshot and some stones. Every time you use negative words, nots, or contractions, you risk being knocked out and killing that which you so desire. Choose 3 words that resonate with your heart and your dream. Connect them to ignite the passion. Write 3 sentences/questions to trigger the possible! These are your hope statements. 1457 Has Your Light Gone Out Have you ever noticed how dark a sky is until you see the one bright star piercing the darkness? Has your light gone out this season? The holidays have gone and the lights are being turned off. It makes a winter drive very dark in the country. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at . On our way to church yesterday, I made a bold statement to the family. "Let's call and have them put lights on the house now!" The children looked a little confused. And dad quickly responded, "I bet their season is a little slow now." Within a few giggles, I couldn't help but think how a lot of people have already given up on their dreams and the year is only 6 days in. Crazy? YES! Unfair? No! Because you have a choice. You can choose to let your light shine or you can choose to let your light go out. Which are you choosing today? Well before you make a decision, think back to Mary. Here she lays after giving birth to Jesus, a completely unexpected gift that rocked her world, and now she is the mother to the Messiah. How do you mother the Son of God? What will you feed him? How will you discipline Him when He disobeys? So many expectations for someone who didn't ask for them. Instead of retreating and hiding when she didn't know what to do, her light continued to shine. It wasn't just for a season, but for a journey, a divine purpose greater than herself. The K.I.S.S. ~ Let your light shine! Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. ~ Matthew 5:16 You were created on purpose with a divine purpose. One that God has extreme resolve. No matter your endeavors or your setbacks, God has an undeterred determination for your success in His purpose designed for you! Now that should make you shiver more so than being outside on a cold winter day with no coat. You mean that much to God for Him to go out on a limb ALWAYS for you! (Matthew 28:16-20) So let me ask again. Has your light gone out? Maybe it has, or maybe it will. But remember this... You have a choice to make a difference in the world you touch by living out God's divine purpose for your life. The time you feel like you can't do it or what you are doing doesn't make a difference, go outside on a dark night and look into the sky. 1453 Blow Your Own Mind The new year has begun with only a few days in and overwhelm is taking over. You got this! Blow your own mind. No reason to let overwhelm and nerves, along with chaos and busyness take over what you decided for your new year. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at . You matter! So first, let's think back about 48-72 hours ago to what you decided you wanted this new year. Now instead of thinking about how you are going to get there, what would it do for you to achieve that goal and get what you wanted? Would it shift how you felt throughout your day? Would it elevate how you see yourself in the mirror? How would it assist in the confidence arena? Where would you be willing to go when you accomplish it? What song would your heart sing? That last one is a little strange. But if you want to get something different, you must be willing to go beyond what you have done before. Blow your own mind! The K.I.S.S. ~ Blow your own mind! It's easy to get caught up in the same old thing. And trying something new can be scary. But how scary will it be when you are further behind from where you are today? Blow your own mind! Think outside the box. Thoughts and words matter as much as actions. Expect the unexpected. Realty is your friend as much as your enemy. Be real, but expectant of what you haven't achieved yet. Put yourself first for the sake of others. As you begin to feel like you are already falling behind, take a moment and BREATHE! Overwhelm doesn't have to be your go to emotion. 1450 Let Your Faith Be Bigger Than Your Fears The countdown has begun to a New Year, a new you! However, you don't have to wait for the ball to drop. Let your faith be bigger than your fears. As you look back over this past year, what do you wish you had accomplished? Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at . Now be honest! Even if you had the best year ever, you still would wish something was different. a better job more clients less bills a growing family a new house a certification more books read more time to yourself less complaining a new car So if you took a few minutes to ponder, what kept you from going for what you wished was different? Most of what didn't happen can be found wrapped and driven by FEAR! fear of rejection, fear of missing out, fear of conflict, fear of change, fear of success, fear of failure, fear of not being good enough, fear of not be loved. FEAR! FEAR!! FEAR!!! Fear is real and something we need to protect ourselves from danger and evil. However, operating our lives out of fear is not what God had intended. Yet we do it and I did it. I thought I was fulfilling my faith requirements: being a devoted wife, raising my children even homeschooling them, working within the church, tithing, giving of my time and talents, volunteering in the community. Actually, I was doing it out of fear --- fear of judgment. I thought I was doing everything right. But it took a storm to shut me down. "These are not the plans I have for you," whispered God. And I even do it now. Second-guessing what God is unveiling. Running closer to what I know than trusting what God knows. Living a life in faith is being God-centered. 1449 Do Everything In Love When you are tired and don't feel like doing anything, do everything in love. There are many days where you are exhausted, little energy left to even go to the bathroom. But everyone continues to demand more of you when you have little to give. Even in marriage, we get tired. All we want is to win. Win for ourselves and stop the madness of all the other stuff in life. But winning isn't everything. It's more about sharing and compromising. Loving when it's easy; and more importantly, loving when you don't want to. Now this idea of winning, getting your way, always being right, is something that comes easy for all of us. Call it human nature. Who doesn't want to win? Who doesn't want to be right? I know I do. In watching the bowl games, you can see it written on the coaches' faces. WIN!! Let's do it my way! We want everything to work out as we planned it. But there's no way you can control everyone's actions and attitude. You are bound to run in to traffic of disagreements and of confrontations. Plus, at the end of the day, it only gets worse. Frustration builds and patience lessens. Winning isn't everything, loving is! The K.I.S.S. ~ Do everything in love! 1448 Beyond the Bows and Wrapping Paper It doesn't seem fair that everything leads up to a moment of ripping paper and extreme joy. So what happens beyond the bows and wrapping paper? Maybe it's the fighting and arguing for who gets to play the new game first. Or panicking for what is lost in the paper pile; where's the money? Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at . Oh, the days of celebration can lead you down the alley of headaches and heartaches. So why is it that we keep putting ourselves through the chaos to celebrate more pain than happiness? The expectations of what is supposed to be for the holidays rules the celebration. Unfair both to you and the family. No one wants screaming children because they didn't get what they wanted. No one wants those stares that make you feel like a worthless parent. We even experienced this. Now there wasn't any screaming or temper tantrums. But there was a very concerned look as one son opened a gift that the other son so desperately wanted. And the cool thing from our perspective, his gift was just wrapped in a different size box, but it was exactly what he wanted. To say the least, Daddy and I got a great inside chuckle watching him stew and not saying anything because he didn't want to be "that" child. Wanting something someone else has seems to run deep in the human race. But it's how you deal with it that makes it more tolerable during the holidays. So how do you get beyond the bows and wrapping paper? The K.I.S.S. ~ Make it personal! We are quick to say something like, "John wanted this, but you got this." Unfortunately, phrases similar to this only adds fuel to the fire. You are putting one over the other. So make it personal to the one of concern, whether it's your oldest, the youngest, or even your husband. Make it personal. Point out the benefits. Don't compare one to another. Celebrate the uniqueness. Remember, you set the tone for perception. Don't come out on the defensive side. If you are going to play defense, so are they going to defend their position. You want to play offense. Let them know you are on their side. "Don't make the bows and wrapping paper become the highlight. 1447 The Last Shall Be First Now that Christmas has come and gone, what deadline are you rushing to next? Remember, the last shall be first. Because in all seriousness, is rushing getting you where you want to go? For most of what we want, NO!!! Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at . Rushing just gets us further behind. We think that if we can take the lead and have convenience work on our side, then all will fall into place. Or will it? Convenience is not sacrifice. And sacrifice is what God desires from us to change up the game of mundane living. He wants you to BE alive! Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!! If you want to walk by faith, it requires sacrifice, not convenience, nor habits or dates. The last shall be first. Where does rushing really get you? Not very far, especially the driver who cut me off, followed by two other drivers, only to get stuck at the same stoplight and me and the other drivers. What if he would have been a little more patient and watchful, not rushed and a bully. We always seem to be running on towards deadlines. Even Miss Courtney at our local Walmart shared with me as she was ringing up my groceries. "Christmas is a deadline. You just have to get it all done by a certain day." Is that how you are living your life? Deadlines? Your deadlines. Your schedule. I don't know if you remember back when the A.I.M. Academy was being announced. And yes, MY deadline was to have it launch in November. But then a few things happened that needed my attention. So I put off the launch of the A.I.M. Academy. And that was really hard for me. However, what made it easy was how God was preparing the better route. Now, I must tell you. It is up and coming. And I can't wait to make the announcement here. So please stay tuned. It is SUPER EXCITING what is coming your way. As a little sidebar, maybe you've wanted to make some changes, but finances got in the way or a multitude of other excuses. I completely understand. Coaching is an investment and expensive. I know, because I too invest in coaching. The A.I.M. Academy is going to give you some incredible options; life-changing options. You feel guilty for throwing away the leftovers; such a waste. You feel guilty for NOT eating the leftovers; such yummy goodness. You feel guilty for eating the leftovers; too much for your hips. How do you make the best of Christmas leftovers with no guilt and all glory? No matter what you do, it seems like you're living in a pile of guilt. That is no way to live. It's not good for your health nor your heart. Guilt shortens your passion and lengthens your time of worry. 1445 Hope Is Born The things we love are never far away. They are within our heart. Hope is born! Love came down. Joy to the world! So much of our life, we are searching for the star; the ONE thing to light our way. Something that will transform us. Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? We're always looking for light in all the dark places! Today, marks a day of celebration. Love came down. But it's not what is happening now under the tree. It's what God gifted the world thousands of years ago. Hope is born! Luke 2:1-14 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace goodwill to men." God sent His light to your fallen world. This bright light which is freely given to you. Don't underestimate the gift of this child. Immanuel, God with us. Hope is born! But where do you place your hope? Or have you given up, just going through the motions? Hope is born! A babe wrapped in swaddling cloths lying in a manger amongst His creation. It's Jesus Christ! This bright light gifted to us by God, the creator of the universe. Love came down. Joy to the world! Hope is born! The K.I.S.S. ~ Hope is born! So where are you going to find true meaning and purpose for your life? In your earthly addictions, attractions, and actions? Whom are you going to offer up your heart to find inspiration and hope? You find it in the ONE who is the true light that gives light to everyone! (John 1:9) Hope is born! Just as love came down all from humble beginnings, you experience God's light in your darkness. 1444 An Upside Down Christmas 10/28/2019

1444 An Upside Down Christmas It's beginning to look like an upside down Christmas. Not only a topsy turvy day, but a feeling that flows throughout the year. Living in an upside down world might be trendy and rad, and create a memorable experience (for only a chaotic minute). But Christmas trees weren't designed to hang from the ceiling or be suspended upside down. Or were they? Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at . Some of this trend dates back to decorating for ease, not enough space, and cutting only the tip of the fir off the tree and hanging it pointing it towards the dinner table. Did you know that last year, there was even a tree, an upside down tree, sold at Target for close to $1000. Now I'm all for beautiful trees, but is setting the trend really worth the cost? You better believe it!! God set the trend before we even knew there was a trend. The creator of the universe decided to send a part of Him, His son to the world that He created to connect to our physical world. An upside down Christmas! God wanted to know us from all aspects of our lives, the world He created and as His creation. So what better way than an upside down Christmas. The K.I.S.S. ~ An upside down Christmas! And truly that is exactly as God sees it. Him sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth. The star upon the tree really came down first to you and me. So why shouldn't we have an upside down Christmas? The star pointing at you! The greatest gift He gave Himself.... YOU!!! But unfortunately, we tend to live our own trends and set our own rules wishing for something more in life. What if you followed the trend set by your Heavenly Father? What if you did Christmas the way He sees it? Now that doesn't mean you have to go out and purchase a $1000 tree that hangs from the ceiling. That might be a little much, even for God. But as I rotated and shifted my position, there it was. A single star shining so bright, it lit up the deepest of the night. That's what you do; the light of Christmas. 1441 Consider It A Gift For all that you do, consider it a gift! A gift that keeps on giving. A gift that strengthens the heart and fills the world with joy. Parenting is the toughest job you will ever do. And whether you feel confident in your parenting skills or question why you had to deal with a recent conversation, what you give is a gift only you can give. It was the ninth hour to finishing the gifts for the teachers, the bus driver, the postman, the repair man, the neighbors, the pool guy, and the classmates. Nothing says Christmas than homemade candy. Bring on the peanut clusters; as they are my signature yummies for the season. You know how a deadline keeps you on task. Well, deadlines also keep you up very late into the wee of the morning. In those moments, you question your sanity in saying "yes" to volunteering. But oh how your hard work pays off. My son surprised his teachers yesterday with gifts from the heart, specifically chosen for each of them. And he also couldn't leave out the bus driver. He was so excited to give them the gifts. And though I wished I could see all their reactions, I did get to experience it with the bus driver. She was so excited; the bus was put in park and hugs all around! What you do every day matters! Consider it a gift. When you get after your child, consider it a gift. When you take a privilege away, consider it a gift. When you discipline accordingly, consider it a gift. Everything you do is a gift. (James 1:2-12 MSG) Now your family may not always agree with you. But you must consider all that you do a gift. This season is the beginning of new opportunities, new ways to share your gifts. The K.I.S.S. ~ Share your gifts! Nothing is more beautiful than taking what is given to you and sharing it with the world. Yes, it starts with your family; loving them where they're at. Consider it a gift. We started talking Christmas and plans; how her day was going. To her surprise, I was genuinely interested in her. Seeing the smile on her face was energizing to her and me! A postcard from the heart! I could have been that grouchy customer that kept to herself, trying to rush through the line without making eye contact. But what good would it have served? Maybe I would have saved 2 minutes. However, her sharing plans of Christmas shopping still left to do and the movie "The Grinch that Stole Christmas"... You had to be there in the conversation. We giggled about those grinches that show up in her line. I told her there's no room in this line for grinches. What fun we had if just for a moment! The stress of frustrated shoppers melted away. I told her thank you for her smile! A postcard from the heart! So much of our minutes are consumed by reacting to what everyone around us is doing. Make today brighter than the person standing next to you. If there's gray skies, let the sun shine with your words. If there is unexpected chaos, look for the unexpected blessings. Oh wait, you forgot about your small group. The holidays bring out the best in us, stress and all of its glory. However, you don't have to let it get you down. You are not Mrs. Grinchmas!! Yet, you might be taking on the name. Stop for a moment. Seriously! Tune in to my voice. No, this is not a hypnosis session. It's heart motivation for your soul. What do you remember about Christmas growing up? And of all those memories, which one do you like the most? Take that memory and encapsulate the emotions of love you felt. But the process in how you strive for results is the key. When you constantly attack what you want, you are missing out on who you are becoming. The focus is simply the outcome of your desires, not the lessons learned through the journey. Sometimes, you can fall into what you want. But at what price? Most of what we want comes from sacrifice. And that sacrifice usually involves giving up something of ourselves. You can't be less than who you are. Nothing comes from nothing. So if you are wanting more than what you have, you need to look from the inside out. Who are you becoming? A woman with a driven spirit desiring to impact the world she touches. Dreaming about what I should be doing. Driving myself crazy for second guessing myself. Wondering... Where are You, Christmas? With the hustle and bustle, this busy time of year, I can't help but ponder how we live the Christmas lifestyle of R.U.S.H.- Running uncontrolled shadowing hustle. Now that hustle as a verb is to force (someone) to move hurriedly or unceremoniously in a specified direction; obtain by forceful action or persuasion. What happened to the reason for the season; where your heart skips a beat and your eyes are brighter than the stars? If we stop long enough to smell the crisp, cool air, maybe we will begin to unlock the magic and wonderment of the gift. Not just the perfect present. The most popular gift-on-demand. The heart of gold gift that's eternal. The K.I.S.S. ~ Where are You, Christmas? As I drove up to the house after returning from an extended excursion to move my daughter once again, visit with my son, and meet-up on the road with my daughter's boyfriend, I couldn't help but see the beauty in the decorations I labored over for days. The lights reflective throughout the house. A reminder of God's unconditional love. The trees tall and sturdy. A reminder of God's steadfast grace. The ornaments adorning the branches. A reminder of God's overreaching forgiveness. The reason for the season hasn't changed. But maybe your heart has. It's easy to get caught up in the bows and the paper, the gifts under the tree, the food on the table, the decorations. What needs to be captivated is your heart! Stop for a moment. Hit the pause button. No more rushing to get it all done. Embrace the value of what this season is showing you. Open your heart to the benefits of this glorious season. I can tell you my marriage has taken me places I thought I would never go. Beautiful islands. Pomp and circumstance. Roller coasters and a little mouse. Too many homes to count on one hand. A basketball team of children. Very few quiet evenings. A servants heart. Listening to all of this doesn't sound bad. But in the mix of all of that beauty was hidden messes.
