But here's the thing: It's not all about the plays on the field. Yes, it helps you score points, but you have to be able score for it to matter!

First off, I want you to think about what you are currently doing. Are you trying to win the game of life with minimal energy, little rest, and lots of sugar?

Or are you being strategic in the manner in which you care for your mind and body?

Now I get that there are some grand events happening this week. You've got the start of the Olympics and the Super Bowl. 

Who doesn't want to celebrate with good food and drinks? 

Do so, but in a manner that won't tear apart your insides or your outsides. Right?!? I mean, come on!

Give yourself permission, though, to celebrate with kindness.

This week, real commitment means small but strategic shifts that unlock your strength, focus, and resilience. It’s your move—are you ready?

Action Steps to Fuel Like a Champion

  1. Sleep Audit: Start tracking your sleep for a few nights. Use an app, a journal, whatever works—but be honest. Then commit to getting at least 7 hours a night this week. Don’t settle for less. Optimal sleep is where recovery begins—it’s when your muscles rebuild, your brain clears out mental cobwebs, and your energy tanks refill. "Sleep is the carwash for your body!" ~ Kristianne Wargo

  2. Nutrition Swap: Identify one processed or sugary item you grab daily, and replace it with a nutrient-dense alternative. Swap that candy bar for a handful of nuts. Replace soda with infused water or herbal tea. These might seem small, but they add up fast. Your body and brain will reward you with more stamina, sharper focus, and steadier mood swings.

  3. Mindful Moments: Dedicate 10 minutes each morning or evening to reset. Try deep breathing, meditation, or gentle stretching. This isn’t about zen mastery—it’s about clearing your nervous system so stress doesn’t pile up and cloud your performance. Consistency here keeps you calm, centered, and ready to execute.

Let’s be real: ignoring this is just playing with fire. If you want peak performance, then show yourself the same respect that champions do. 

This week, lean into these steps. Track your progress, push your limits, and watch what happens when you treat your mind and body like the true MVPs they are.
