The 2nd Manager Intelligence Skill – Integrity
- A vital skill that can be developed and grown
- Key Words: Accountability, Trust, Forthright, Honesty, Straightforward
Why is it so important to develop Integrity as a skill, beyond a value?
- An employee wants someone who keeps their word
How to grow the skill of Integrity and strengthen your team…
- Keep your word
- Keep your calendar
- Keep your cool
- Keep your commitments
The Highs and Lows of the Integrity Skill
- High: I am honest and hard-working, I do not think I am better than anyone else on my team. I hold myself and my team accountable for my actions and admit when I am wrong.
- Low: I am dishonest and loyal only to myself, I manipulate others to get my way and hold others responsible for my actions.
Key Questions
- How often do you set and keep appointments? Are you reliable with your calendar as often as possible?
- Are you skilled at saying no, more than you say yes? You measure your commitments carefully and you know saying “yes” too often can overburden a team and lead to personal fatigue or burn out.
