Making sure that your business serves the life you want to live is not a nice-to-have, it’s a necessity for you to feel abundant and be able to thrive and love what you do every day. Coming from corporate jobs and years of 9 to 5 training is not an easy habit, just because you work for yourself now.

It feels like very few things worth pursuing for notoriety or financial gain are centered around family, nutrition, and a love for community. Chef Rama has not only successfully pulled these things together, she did so on her terms with joy and a passion for what she’s creating in and out of the kitchen.

There are so many things that can block our way to success. We can have a creative block and not be making content, a video block and be scared to go live, or money block and not know what to charge for our product or services.

It’s the Summer vacation edition! After almost 2 years of not going anywhere, we took time off and went to Maine. I loved taking a break from work. I still noticed business-related things on the trip and I’m sharing those with you on this episode.
info_outlineI always put my clients and what I’ve committed to first in business, and I bet the same is true for you. So then, how do you make time to work on your own business when you have projects you want to complete? That’s what I’ll be talking about in today’s podcast.
I used the process of creating content on my own business with a course I’m working on now. Today, I’m going to reflect on how this is different from working with clients. For instance, progress on your own projects might be a little slower than when you work with clients.
Here are some of the things that I do to help keep the workflow moving and what I do to keep progressing with it: :
- Have a system. There are many systems that can help keep you on track.
- I offer questions to help you get to the step-by-step of your own tasks.
- One important point: build inspiration time into the system! I tell you how.
- How these inspiration sessions can help the project you are currently developing.
- How asking the right questions for your brand and your product will affect all the other items you create.
- Schedule time to build out all the pieces (think: time blocking).
- How I was able to make time every day and how much time you really need.
I talk about how using the same language in multiple places in your marketing can reinforce these ideas to your customer.
When you work on your own projects for your business, remember:
- You really can feel accomplished using the time you have.
- While you build something new, you might need to make adjustments to your schedule.
- This is time to work on your own creative ideas.
- This work allows you to step into your own power and work on your vision for the future.
I believe that as entrepreneurs, we all have to spend time moving ourselves closer to our vision for the future. One way I’m doing this is taking some time off in July and August.
I also discuss:
- How astrological influences can affect us (also see Episode 41 with Shauna Angel Blue)
- What we can expect for the next two months now that Mercury retrograde is over
- The areas we should be working on right now
- How to answer the question that every entrepreneur asks: “How do I work on my own business?”
What’s most important is to know where you’re going, and keep moving in that direction.
