Making sure that your business serves the life you want to live is not a nice-to-have, it’s a necessity for you to feel abundant and be able to thrive and love what you do every day. Coming from corporate jobs and years of 9 to 5 training is not an easy habit, just because you work for yourself now.

Today I’m sharing my visibility report.

It feels like very few things worth pursuing for notoriety or financial gain are centered around family, nutrition, and a love for community. Chef Rama has not only successfully pulled these things together, she did so on her terms with joy and a passion for what she’s creating in and out of the kitchen.

Hitting a major milestone is such an incredible moment in anyone’s life. Milestones give you the energy and validation you need to keep moving forward. It makes the crazy journey in between worth it.

Why are we motivated to do some things and struggle to do others? That’s what we’re talking about today with my friend and (sometimes) therapist Lara Fastman.

There are so many things that can block our way to success. We can have a creative block and not be making content, a video block and be scared to go live, or money block and not know what to charge for our product or services.

It’s the Summer vacation edition! After almost 2 years of not going anywhere, we took time off and went to Maine. I loved taking a break from work. I still noticed business-related things on the trip and I’m sharing those with you on this episode.
info_outlineAs I focus more on my personal business goals (such as the new course I’m developing), I’ve been thinking about the concept of “your why” more and more. Your “why” is important for so many reasons, and it’s critical to check in with your “why” as things change, as you grow, or as the world around you changes.
In today’s episode, I examine the concept of your “why” and how it can serve you in your life and business.
Why is it important to know your why?
- So you can stay in alignment with your goals
- For clarity around decisions that you make
- In order to stay motivated when things get tough, tired and tense (and they always do!)
As John Maxwell said, “Find your why and you’ll find your way.”
In the episode, I also discuss:
- The questions to ask around your “why” (it’s not about discovering your ultimate reason for your existence)
- A simple way to discover your exact “why”
- What’s so important about determining your “why”?
- How finding your “why” is actually a process of self-discovery and how it relates to your communications, your self-expression and more concrete components of your business
- Why you should have a separate “why” for each project or course you create
- Why naming your “why” takes looking inward and can give you courage to overcome your fears
- How knowing your “why” can make decisions easier
I also share my own list of current “whys” and invite you to revisit yours; and I share a quote by Kim McMillan that summarizes what I think is another way to define your why.
Defining your “why” is another form of self-love. It’s something I highly recommend for you.
I end today’s show with a few shout-outs to fellow female podcasters. I hope you check them out!
