The weekend is over, and a fun filled week begins
There are times when some say that I’m too hard on the big telco stories. There are even times when I get an email calling me off base when I call out what appears to be an unfair business practice. Sometimes its locking phones, even if its not owned by the carrier, other times its agregeous contracts , but today I bring to you a brand new angle on controlling every aspect of the way you use your phone, what if I told you that AT&T/Cingular, Qwest, Sprint and others are now blocking some perfectly valid phone numbers, because they don’t ‘like’ the company they go to. Keep in mind these are NOT 1-900 or 876 toll numbers, these are not numbers that go offshore, these are not numbers that link to illegal or adult services, these are just persona non grata to the telcos.

Also on the show:

  • Carol Burnett sues Fox over 18 second parody of a show thats been off the air for 30 years, and you probably didn’t even remember. Did I mention it was a parody…ya know, one of the most clear and protected forms of comedic license.
  • Nissan launches new viral add campaign, no word on Bostons anticipated over reaction.
  • First class air travel…the relaxing leather seats, the complimentary drinks, waking from a peaceful nap to find the dead body dumped next to you by the flight crew who apparently didn’t want to leave it in coach. I didn’t think the free Necro-Upgrade came until 200,000 frequent flyer miles.
  • What is everyone ending with the same score for $500 please Alex
  • E-bay scams, we often hear the warnings, but what about the hazards of the inexperienced….no….the completely inept…..no…make that those with no clue what exactly is ‘acceptable’ as a packing material (hint…extra cheese should not be considered an option)
