info_outlineI am so excited to introduce you guys to my friend Alison Prince and her daughter Makayla Prince. Alison is one of my closest friends and I love our friendship because we have the kind of relationship where I can call or text her when I’m struggling with my business AND I can call or text her when things are going great and we cheer each other on and support one another without jealousy or competition. #strongwomensupportingstrongwomen
Alison has an INCREDIBLY cool story, and I brought her on the podcast to share it. She graduated from college and had her teaching degree, and was shocked when she got her first teaching job and wasn’t making enough to even afford groceries - her salary qualified her for food stamps.
With a new baby on the way, she knew she had to make some changes and that’s when she began her entrepreneurial journey.
The stories she shares of her failures and successes along the way gave me chills! Alison started her first business by selling scraps she found around her house!
We actually ended up breaking this one into two parts because it got long, but in this first part we start sharing the story of how she taught her four kids money principles at a young age (including cutting them off financially at twelve years old)! Her daughter Makayla is on the podcast too, talking about what it was like growing up watching her mom start various businesses. And, in fact, Makayla and her sister started their own business at just 11 and 13 years old and make 100k in 9 months selling….scarves!
I hope you love this podcast as much as I loved recording it. Alison and Makayla are two women who I love and look up to, and have pure hearts of gold.
So much love,
Natalie
