info_outlineHello and welcome to today’s episode of Sangyan podcast. Many policies and programs have been introduced to combat school dropouts. Let’s take a look at some of the key initiatives that are working to ensure more children stay in school and have access to quality education
Thankfully, there are several government programs designed to reduce school dropouts and ensure every child has the chance to succeed.
- The Right to Education Act ensures free and compulsory education for children aged 6 to 14.
- The Mid-Day Meal Scheme provides nutritious meals in schools, encouraging attendance.
- The Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative promotes girls' education through awareness campaigns, financial assistance, and improved school facilities. It emphasizes reducing gender discrimination and empowering girls to become self-reliant.
- There’s also the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, which focuses on holistic education from pre-primary to senior secondary levels.
- And the Eklavya Model Residential Schools offer quality education to tribal students.
These programs are a step toward creating equal opportunities for all children and reducing school dropout rates.
These programs are an essential part of the solution, but we all have a role to play. Now, let’s discuss some practical ways we can work together to prevent school dropouts from happening in the first place.
