Create Your Now with Kristianne Wargo
There's a room inside of you that rarely gets a visitor. It's where the replaying happens — the conversations you wish you'd handled differently, the fears you won't say out loud, the questions you're not sure you're allowed to ask. Most treat that room like it belongs only to them. Private. Personal. Locked. You were never meant to think alone, sitting there sorting through your thoughts. That's not a flaw in you. It's a feature of how God made you. God didn't hand you a mind and say, "Good luck in there." He gave you His Spirit. He gave you His Word. He gave you His presence—not just for...

There's a quiet ache that comes from doing all the right things and still not seeing the breakthrough. The prayers have been prayed. The steps have been taken. The thing that's been hoped for and believed for still feels like it's sitting somewhere just out of reach. What happens when the answer is wait? If any of that sounds familiar today, sweet friend, hear this clearly: faithfulness is not falling on deaf ground, and no one who walks with God is ever...

The love is real. You know you love him. But somewhere between the school pickups, the dinner, dishes, and dogs, and the dozen things on tomorrow’s list, you realize something unsettling. You have not actually been with him in days. Not really. You have been in the same house. Maybe even in the same room. But making room for us — for the two of you — has quietly slipped to the bottom of a list that never seems to end. And what gets pushed to the bottom eventually gets forgotten. That is not because you do not care. It is because life is loud. And marriage, by nature, is patient. It does...

There’s a tiredness that sleep doesn’t fix. It’s not in your body — it’s in your soul. It’s the kind of exhaustion that shows up when you’ve been pouring and pouring and no one ever thought to ask if you were empty. You made breakfast, signed the permission slips, held the crying child, smiled through the chaos, late-night conversations — and when the house finally went quiet, you realized you had nothing left. Not for them. Not for yourself. Not for the woman you used to recognize. She gave everything and called it love — and you know her because you’ve been her or might...

Some seasons ask you to keep going when nothing around you looks any different. The bills are still there. The relationship still aches. The answer you’ve been praying for hasn’t shown up at your door with a bow on it; no overnight delivery. And somewhere in the quiet of another ordinary morning, you wonder if anything is actually happening at all. My friend — you can hold on to what you cannot see. Because the most important work rarely announces itself. It moves underground, in the places your eyes will never reach, building something your circumstances haven’t caught up to yet....

Something powerful happens in a marriage when one person turns to the other and says, with quiet, deliberate presence — I see you. The power of “I see you” is not about fixing anything, solving a problem, or checking something off a list. It is about pausing long enough to notice the human being standing right in front of you. The one who shows up day after day, doing the things no one claps for. The one who carries burdens they have not fully named. When was the last time you looked at your spouse and let them know that who they are matters to you? Desire to be supported and...

That's not a flaw in you. It's a feature of how God made you. God didn't hand you a mind and say, "Good luck in there." He gave you His Spirit. He gave you His Word. He gave you His presence—not just for Sunday or 911 moments, but for the Tuesday afternoon spiral. For the 2 a.m. loop. For the thought that showed up uninvited and won't leave.

Paul put it plainly: "Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace" (Romans 8:5–6, NIV).
Slow down for a moment and think about what you just read. Life and peace. Not just survival. Not just coping. Life. And. Peace. That's what's available when the Spirit governs the space between your ears.
But most of us don't live there, do we? We live in the unfiltered version — the one where every thought gets equal airtime. The worry gets the same volume as the promise. The accusation gets the same seat as the truth. And we don't even question it, because we've been doing it so long it just feels like thinking.
A.W. Tozer wrote that God desires the closest kind of intimacy with every soul — that He continues to pursue us beyond anything we could ask or think (a paraphrase rooted in the heart of The Pursuit of God).
That reframes everything. God isn't sitting outside the door of your mind, waiting for a formal invitation. He's pursuing you. He wants in. Not to judge what He finds in there, but to bring order to it. Peace to it. Truth to it.
Think about the last time a thought consumed you. Maybe it was about your marriage, your kids, your calling, your worth. Did you bring it to God — or did you just bring it to bed with you? There's no shame in that answer. But there is an invitation to do it differently.
The Bible says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5, NIV).
That word lean matters. It's not talking about casual thinking. It's talking about the full weight of reliance. When you lean on your own understanding, you're putting all the pressure on a foundation that was never built to hold it alone. Your mind is brilliant, capable, God-given — and it still needs Him to function the way it was made to.
So what does it actually look like to stop thinking alone?
It looks like a Wednesday afternoon in the kitchen — dinner's halfway done, your mind is halfway through a worst-case scenario — and instead of pushing through it, you pause and whisper, "Lord, what's true here?" It looks like reading a verse before you read the comments section. It looks like saying out loud, "I don't have to figure this out by myself." Not because you're weak. Because you were designed for partnership with the Living God.
Isaiah reminds us, "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the Lord. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts'" (Isaiah 55:8–9, NIV).
His thoughts are higher. That should bring you relief. You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to stop locking the door and pretending you do.
You get to impact your everyday when you invite God into your thought life.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Invite God into your thought life: T.H.I.N.K.!
T — TALK to Him before you talk to yourself.
Before the mental rehearsal kicks in — before you script the argument or spiral through the scenario — redirect the first words to God. It doesn't have to be eloquent. "Lord, I need You in this thought" is enough. Next time you catch yourself mid-loop, interrupt it. Out loud if you have to. In the car, at the sink, standing in the hallway after the kids walk away.
"Give God the first word instead of giving your fear the microphone." ~ Kristianne Wargo
H — HOLD every heavy thought up to His Word.
When a thought feels crushing, ask one question: does this sound like something God would say to me? If it doesn't line up with His Word, it doesn't get to stay. Pull out Romans 8:6, Proverbs 3:5, or Isaiah 55:8–9 and read it next to the thought that's weighing on you. Let Scripture be the filter.
Pick one verse and write it on a note card. Set it on the bathroom mirror, the dashboard, the kitchen windowsill. Every time the heavy thought returns, read the truth out loud.
I — INVITE the Holy Spirit into your everyday moments.
Stop saving God for emergencies. He's not a glass-case resource — He's a present companion. Practice this: as you pour your morning coffee, say, "Lord, I invite You into my thinking today."
In the carpool line, ask Him to guard your mind before the noise starts. At the grocery store, ask for His peace while the mental to-do list spirals.
These aren't formal prayers. They're relational conversations with a God who's already there.
N — NAME the thought that's been running unchecked.
There's probably one right now. The one you keep coming back to but never say out loud. This week, name it — to God, in a journal, or to a trusted friend.
"Something shifts when an unnamed fear meets spoken truth." ~ Kristianne Wargo
You might write, "I keep thinking I'm failing my kids." Or, "I can't stop worrying about money." Say it plainly. Then ask God what He says about it. Unnamed thoughts grow in the dark. Named thoughts lose their grip in the light.
K — KEEP Scripture within arm's reach all week.
Don't wait for the moment to find you — prepare for it. Write out Romans 8:5–6 and read it every morning before the demands start. Set a daily alarm on your phone with a one-line verse. Keep a pocket Bible or a Bible app one tap away. The goal isn't perfection — it's proximity.
"The closer God's Word stays to your daily rhythm, the harder it is for the old patterns to run the show." ~ Kristianne Wargo
Here's the truth no one tells you when you're drowning in your own thoughts: you were never supposed to swim alone. God isn't watching from the shore. He's in the water with you. He's in the room with you — the one you thought was locked. It never was. He's been there the whole time.
So this week, open the door. Let Him into the place where the thoughts live. Not someday. Not when things get bad enough. Now. Because the mind governed by His Spirit is where life and peace are waiting.
"One step at a time leads to miles of greatness." ~ Kristianne Wargo
"Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!"
