Create Your Now with Kristianne Wargo
Have you ever had that feeling that silences your thoughts and tells you to think small, all because of your passion, ambition, sensitivity, or just because it's you? That kind of feeling that doesn't announce itself. It just settles in, year after year, until one day you look in the mirror and barely recognize the person staring back. Why is it so easy to shrink back and hide, to the point of folding our wings that we forget we had them? Don't let the quiet ache behind your smile cover up what really needs permission to bloom. Somewhere along the way, the world handed out a script. And for a...

There’s a hum that never quite stops. It lives in the scroll of a screen, the opinions that pile up uninvited, the mental replay of something someone said three days ago that still stings. The noise doesn’t always come from the outside — sometimes the loudest room in the house is the one between our own ears. And somewhere in the middle of all that racket, a still, steady voice is speaking. Not louder. Not more aggressive. Just… truer. Learning to listen for the voice that cuts through the noise isn’t about silencing every distraction — it’s about knowing which voice to lean...

There's a room inside of you that rarely gets a visitor. It's where the replaying happens — the conversations you wish you'd handled differently, the fears you won't say out loud, the questions you're not sure you're allowed to ask. Most treat that room like it belongs only to them. Private. Personal. Locked. You were never meant to think alone, sitting there sorting through your thoughts. That's not a flaw in you. It's a feature of how God made you. God didn't hand you a mind and say, "Good luck in there." He gave you His Spirit. He gave you His Word. He gave you His presence—not just for...

There's a quiet ache that comes from doing all the right things and still not seeing the breakthrough. The prayers have been prayed. The steps have been taken. The showing up has happened even on the days when quitting felt easier. And yet — the door hasn't opened. The answer hasn't come. The thing that's been hoped for and believed for still feels like it's sitting somewhere just out of reach. What happens when the answer is wait? If any of that sounds familiar today, sweet friend, hear this clearly: faithfulness is not falling on deaf ground, and no one who walks with God is ever...

The love is real. You know you love him. But somewhere between the school pickups, the dinner, dishes, and dogs, and the dozen things on tomorrow’s list, you realize something unsettling. You have not actually been with him in days. Not really. You have been in the same house. Maybe even in the same room. But making room for us — for the two of you — has quietly slipped to the bottom of a list that never seems to end. And what gets pushed to the bottom eventually gets forgotten. That is not because you do not care. It is because life is loud. And marriage, by nature, is patient. It does...

There’s a tiredness that sleep doesn’t fix. It’s not in your body — it’s in your soul. It’s the kind of exhaustion that shows up when you’ve been pouring and pouring and no one ever thought to ask if you were empty. You made breakfast, signed the permission slips, held the crying child, smiled through the chaos, late-night conversations — and when the house finally went quiet, you realized you had nothing left. Not for them. Not for yourself. Not for the woman you used to recognize. She gave everything and called it love — and you know her because you’ve been her or might...

Some seasons ask you to keep going when nothing around you looks any different. The bills are still there. The relationship still aches. The answer you’ve been praying for hasn’t shown up at your door with a bow on it; no overnight delivery. And somewhere in the quiet of another ordinary morning, you wonder if anything is actually happening at all. My friend — you can hold on to what you cannot see. Because the most important work rarely announces itself. It moves underground, in the places your eyes will never reach, building something your circumstances haven’t caught up to yet....

You see it happening. Something in you is shifting — the way you pray, the way you respond, the way you hold your peace when you used to lose it. There’s new growth forming in your spirit, and it’s real. But before you rush to show the world, before you post it, proclaim it, or perform it for an audience, don’t pick the bud. Pretending takes so much more energy than people realize. It’s not just one lie — it’s a thousand tiny adjustments every single day. You’ve been carrying it for a while now, haven’t you? That careful smile. That practiced answer — I’m good, I’m fine, everything’s great. And maybe you’ve gotten so good at wearing it that even you’ve started to believe it. But it’s time to put the mask down because you’re finally ready to be whole. Otherwise, you find youself adjusting your voice and your posture. You rearrange your face before you walk into the room. You swallow the...

You've done it before: lying awake at night replaying a conversation that hasn't happened yet, mapping out every worst-case scenario before getting out of bed. You've carried the weight of what-if, and you didn't even realize how heavy it was until you couldn't stand up straight anymore. Fear-based thinking doesn't always look like panic. Sometimes it looks like planning. What a concept! Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? The prophet Elijah knew noise. He’d just called down fire from heaven, outrun a chariot, and watched God show up in undeniable, earth-shaking power.

And yet, when the threats came and his courage crumbled, he ended up alone in a cave, exhausted and afraid, wondering if any of it had even mattered.
God met him there — but not the way anyone would have expected. A violent wind tore through the mountains. Then an earthquake. Then fire. God wasn’t in any of it. And after the fire — after every dramatic, attention-commanding force had come and gone — came a gentle whisper (1 Kings 19:12). That’s where God was. In the quiet. In the thing that could have been missed entirely if Elijah hadn’t been paying attention.
Oh, the God winks!
There’s something in that story that reaches across centuries and lands right in the middle of an ordinary afternoon. Because the world still operates the same way, doesn’t it? The loudest voices demand the most attention. The most dramatic narratives feel the most urgent. Fear shouts. Comparison shouts. Doubt has a way of raising its voice at the worst possible moment. And in the middle of it all, truth whispers. Not because it’s weak — but because it doesn’t need to compete. A whisper requires closeness. It requires leaning in. And maybe that’s the whole point. God’s voice isn’t fighting for airtime. He’s inviting proximity.
The K.I.S.S. ~ Listen for the voice that cuts through the noise!
Mother Teresa once said, “God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer.”
Not talking. Not asking. Not even believing — listening. That’s where it begins. And that might be the part that gets skipped the most.
It’s easy to fill quiet spaces with noise — podcasts on the drive, music in the kitchen, the next episode before bed. None of those things are wrong.
But sometimes busyness becomes a buffer, and the silence that could carry something sacred gets crowded out before it ever has the chance to speak.
Here’s what the noise wants:
- It wants to be mistaken for authority.
- It wants the lie that’s been repeated enough times to start sounding like truth.
- It wants the comparison that’s been scrolled past enough to start feeling like fact.
But volume has never been the measure of what’s real. A fire can rage and still carry nothing from God. An earthquake can shake everything and leave no word worth holding onto. And then a whisper — small, unassuming, almost easy to miss — can carry the very thing that resets a life.
So what does it look like to tune in?
- It looks like margin. Like five minutes before the house wakes up when the coffee’s still brewing and the phone is still face down.
- It looks like a walk with no earbuds. A prayer that starts with, “I’m not going to talk — I’m just going to be here.”
- It looks like trusting that God isn’t hiding His voice — He’s offering it in a frequency that requires stillness to receive.
And maybe the most beautiful part of this is what it says about who He is. A God who whispers is a God who is already close. He doesn’t need to shout across distance. He’s right there — in the pause between one thought and the next, in the scripture that suddenly reads differently than it did six months ago, in the peace that settles over a situation that hasn’t actually changed yet. He speaks in the silence of the heart because that’s where He already lives.
The noise isn’t going anywhere. Tomorrow will have its own opinions, its own headlines, its own inner monologue trying to narrate the day before it even starts.
But right here — right now — there’s a voice that’s been speaking all along. It doesn’t need to shout to be the most powerful thing in the room. It just needs someone willing to get quiet enough to hear it.
Lean in. Listen close. And let truth do what truth has always done — cut through.
"Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!"
