EP. 211: From Layoff to Launch: How Sarah Built Financial Freedom Through Entrepreneurship
One of my Courage Driven Latina clients, Sarah Tulloch, is a podcast production manager, and fun fact: she’s been managing this podcast for over three years! She created the podcast launch course that’s in the Courage Driven Latina Portal, and she’s even helped her fellow courage driven Latinas launch their podcasts and post consistently. Today, she’s an expert on all things podcasting with a successful business, but her life was very different just a few years ago. She lost her courage and didn’t know how to get it back, so she joined the Courage Driven Latina program. Sarah Tulloch is the founder and the lead Podcast Production Manager at CCST (Content Creation with Sarah Tulloch). CCST is a boutique podcast and content production studio dedicated to supporting creative entrepreneurs with done-for-you services and proven growth strategies. Sarah helps her clients grow their reach, promote their services, and attract their ideal clients through eye-catching and consistent content. In just 4 years, Sarah Tulloch has produced audio and video podcast episodes, copy, and social media materials for +15 podcasts nationwide. At CCST, they provide the essentials of podcast production so that their clients can focus on staying creative and growing their businesses. Sarah is passionate about women’s stories and education. When she's not producing podcasts or creating content, she's writing romantasy novels cafes all over NYC. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how Sarah built financial freedom through entrepreneurship. Before she started her own company, she was laid off during one of the worst tech layoffs to date. After applying to 234 jobs and hearing almost nothing back, she decided to throw herself into her business idea and never look back. Since then, she’s helped people launch and maintain their podcasts, earn an extra $10k to go to her friend's destination wedding in the Dominican Republic, and find the clarity she was looking for by taking aligned action. Tune in to Sarah’s episode to hear how the Courage Driven Latina helped her find her courage again. EP. 210: Behind the Scenes of My Telemundo Interview: Lessons in Courage, Confidence & Doing It Messy
Getting a live TV segment on Telemundo was a huge life lesson for me. I am a confidence coach, and I teach my clients to have courage, but I was also so freaking scared when this opportunity came to me. For one thing, it was completely in Spanish, and Spanish is my second language; it was live, so I couldn’t ask it to be edited in any way, and I only had a few hours to prepare to be on national TV. The universe was giving me what I wanted, but I was so scared of messing it up, I thought about saying no. In the end, I did the interview. And if you saw my post about it on social media, you know I am so glad that I actually went through with it. But the hours that led up to the interview taught me a few things: that I have an incredible community around me and that I can take my own advice. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about the behind-the-scenes of my Telemundo interview and lessons in courage, confidence, and doing it messy. As soon as I got off the call with my point of contact at Telemundo, my perfectionism started filling my head with so much doubt that I almost threw up. But by following my own coaching methods, I was able to calm my nervous system down, reach out to my community, and have the best interview I could. Tune in to hear the ups and downs of these crazy 24 hours and what valuable lessons I learned that day. Follow Erika on: Website: How to work with Erika:

EP. 209: How to Feel Rich in Courage (Even When Money Feels Tight): 3 Steps to Build Confidence & Negotiate What You’re Worth with Evie Prete
So many of my clients feel trapped because of their financial situation. And it sucks because when you’re living from paycheck to paycheck, it’s hard to manifest a new life because you’re living in survival mode. There is, however, a way to break free from this feeling and finally manifest abundance. And we’re going to show you how to do it. Evie is a Latina Salary Negotiation Coach, Speaker, and Podcaster who specializes in helping women negotiate five-figure salary increases. Through her coaching and the Self Worth Accelerator Mastermind, she has empowered women to step into their highest selves, overcome fear, and unlock their full potential in salary negotiations. As of today, Evie has helped her clients secure over $750k in base salary increases. She’s been featured on , , Save 6 Figures with Gina Knox, Say Hola Wealth, Life as a Gringo, , and Vida Wish I Knew Then podcasts. In this week’s episode, Evie and I talk about how she learned how to feel rich in courage. Before she joined Courage Driven Latina, she had already taken the steps to living a more courageous life by advocating for herself and negotiating her salary. The company that was paying her white male colleague twice as much as her only offered her an additional $1,000 annually. Instead of internalizing or spiraling, Evie applied to other companies in her industry and almost doubled her salary through her negotiating skills. Money was tight, but she believed in herself and took smart, courageous actions anyway. Tune in to hear how Evie is helping Latinas close the wealth gap and how you can learn how to negotiate your salary today! EP. 208: The Real Reason You’re Not Taking Action — And How to Finally Start
Sometimes you’re stuck for a season. Sometimes it’s a few months. For me, it was an entire year. All during 2024, I felt like I had a little rain cloud following me around. It affected my work, my life, and my creativity. And after reading some of the survey answers I got back, I realized that a lot of you were going through the exact same thing. I was able to get myself out of that weird funk I was in, so I wanted to help you guys do the same. That weird funk is survival mode, and it can happen at any time. Whether you’re fighting with a loved one, having a hard time at work, or even just seeing what’s going on in this country. It’s upsetting, and it stops your creative energy from flowing. So how do we reconnect with ourselves and get back into that creative energy? In this week’s episode, we’re talking about the real reason you’re not taking action and how to finally start. Life is gonna get you down; what matters is that you get back up. Listen to this week’s episode to learn mindful strategies on how to reconnect with yourself, how to tap into your creative energy, and how to manifest from a place of abundance rather than in survival mode. EP. 207: The # 1 Strategy to Help You Overcome Perfectionism and Manifest Your Goals

EP. 207: The # 1 Strategy to Help You Overcome Perfectionism and Manifest Your Goals
Your perfectionism is holding you back - in more ways than one. You don’t need another degree or the latest and greatest camera to get started. Waiting for the right set of circumstances is just you letting fear take over your life again, and if you want to manifest your goals, we have to do the work to overcome that fear. Perfectionism is nothing more than fear of not being good enough. Perfectionism is us trying to control the outcome of any given scenario. We are trying to prove ourselves, and because we are trying to prove ourselves, rather than believing that we are already worthy, we are tying our worthiness to the success of this goal. That isn’t going to get us anywhere. To manifest our dream lives, we need to overcome perfectionism. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about the #1 strategy to help you overcome perfectionism and manifest your goals. Manifesting from a place of fear isn’t going to give you the results you want. So in this episode, we’re going to work through a few different scenarios with the best strategy you can use to overcome that habit of perfectionism. Follow Erika on: Website: How to work with Erika:

EP. 206: Let Go of the Timeline: How to Stop Feeling Behind and Start Moving
Believe it or not, I rarely, if ever, have everything figured out all at once. If one thing is going well, something else is giving me issues. Like, my business is doing great, but my relationship with one of my parents isn’t. I’m completing my goal of going to more speaking events, but I haven’t completed my goal of owning a home. I feel behind, and even though I know it will all work out, it still feels scary in the moment. So what can we do after we validate our own feelings? We make a plan and we stick to it. Because our feelings are valid, but we can’t let them hold us back. In this week’s episode, we’re working on letting go of the timeline. In this episode, I’m going to teach you how to stop feeling behind and start moving forward. This idea of a timeline and the American Dream is not the end-all all be-all of your life. You control your destiny, you know your circumstances, and what you have had to overcome. It’s time to stop letting the idea of a timeline control you and time to get moving. EP. 205: Harnessing Fear into Power — ICE raids, generational trauma, and how we rise
It’s true that the current attacks on our community are dangerous and disorienting. That’s the point of them: to confuse us into giving up hope. But the Latino community has always been resilient, and we will rise above this. There are so many ways we can fight back and protect each other. In fact, there are tons of non-violent actions every single one of us can take right now if we want to. Non-violent action is one way we can pour our strength back into ourselves so that we have each other's backs. I’ve been thinking long and hard about this, and I’ve found a few ways you can get involved. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how you can harness your fear and turn it into power. These attacks on our community will not stop us from being the greatest versions of ourselves. We will continue to grow our businesses, support our community, and thrive in every facet of our lives. We can do it, as long as we do it together. Resources Mentioned: Follow Erika on: Website: How to work with Erika:

EP. 204: When Gratitude Turns Into Guilt: The First-Gen People Pleasing Trap
Did you know that being grateful and being a people pleaser are two different things? It can sometimes feel like they’re the same, but being a people pleaser means that you are self-sacrificing for someone else, like your parents, for example. There’s no sacrifice in feeling or being grateful. So why does it feel like we can’t be good daughters if we’re not self-sacrificing? People pleasing is more prevalent than you think, especially among first-generation Latinas. Our parents sacrificed so much to get us the best opportunities they could, so sometimes it feels selfish to do anything other than what they want. It can also feel like you can never take risks because you don’t want to seem ungrateful for everything they’ve done for you. So how do we break this habit and choose ourselves without hurting our relationships in the process? In this week’s episode, we’re sharing a workshop I created for the Understanding People Pleasing Summit with Cora Rennie. People pleasing is a trap, and it will keep you stuck in a self-made cycle of self-sacrifice for way too long. By talking about it, we can identify these habits within ourselves and take the first steps to break out of that cycle. Join me and hundreds of other listeners as we break the people-pleasing cycle and take aligned action now. Resources Mentioned: Follow Erika on: Website: How to work with Erika:

EP. 203: How I Landed 40 Under 40 By Being Magnetic, Not Hustling
Winning the Latina 40 Under 40 award was such a surreal experience, especially when it finally clicked that I had manifested winning this award years ago! This is one of the coolest things I've manifested that I’ve never shared on the podcast before, so we’re going to talk about it today! This award didn’t just fall out of thin air for me. I worked hard to build up my business and my community so that I could be ready to be recognized for the work I was doing. And yes, the universe conspired in ways I had no idea were possible, and for that I am extremely grateful. And, with some aligned action and a healthy amount of manifestation, my wish became my reality. In this week’s episode, I’m going to share the story of how I was nominated for and won the 40 Under 40 and how you can use my manifestation method, too! I use the Magnetic Method framework all the time, and it has brought me so many new and incredible opportunities. And right now, the doors to the Magnetic Mastermind are open, so you have the opportunity to learn more about this method and how my coaching can help you manifest your most amazing life! EP. 201: The #1 Reason Manifestations Fail (and How to Fix It)
Manifesting is not a linear process, and manifestations fail to show up for a number of reasons. It’s frustrating, but it’s part of the process, and it doesn’t mean you should throw in the towel and give up on your dreams. You're failing to manifest because you’re reacting to what is going on in this moment, rather than believing in what is coming. For example, you’re not manifesting making more money because you’re freaking out about being unemployed the day after you get laid off. Instead of freaking out, you could be using this moment to go all out on your business, or landing a higher-paying role, or pivoting to the field you've always wanted to be in. You’re getting in your own way, so let’s fix that, together. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about the #1 reason your manifestations fail and how to fix it. Life is always going to throw curveballs at you, and your manifestations are going to test you. How you react to these curveballs and tests is going to determine if you’re ready for your manifestations to come true. Having faith in yourself and your manifestations is a skill you’ll need to learn and cultivate. Which is why I’m going to help you kick-start your manifesting journey in this week’s episode. EP. 200: Quorum Break & Gerrymandering: Why It Matters for Latino Voices in Texas with Linda Garcia
Texas Representative Linda Garcia has been fighting for our community, both within her state and all over the country. She was one of the brave representatives who fled and basically initiated a strike because of an impending vote to enact racist gerrymandering plans in the state of Texas. In doing so, she and her team were able to buy themselves some time and raise awareness about what's happening in local and federal governments. Our dear friend Linda Garcia has called us to action and told us exactly what we can do to help. Representative Linda Garcia has 17 years of experience in the TV and film industry, helping to build programming for the U.S. Hispanic market at Azteca, Netflix, and Lionsgate. She founded In Luz We Trust, a company dedicated to restructuring negative generational money beliefs to create a positive experience through investing. She recently engaged in a deal with Wells Fargo and People’s Self-Help Housing to educate USDA farmworker households for a financial literacy program. Rep. Garcia is a published author of the book Wealth Warrior: 8 Steps for Communities of Color to Conquer the Stock Market. Wealth Warrior received a bronze medal for Best Self-Transformation Book and a silver medal for Best Business. Rep. Garcia’s work has been featured on Yahoo Finance, Univision, People En Español, Bloomberg, CNBC, Dallas Morning News, Chicago Tribune, Forbes, Parents Latina, and was a contributor to Time’s Next Advisor. Rep. Garcia’s achievements have earned her recognition from Latino Leaders Magazine and the City of Los Angeles. She also hosts a weekly podcast, Investies, where she makes complex economic topics accessible and actionable for a broad audience. In this week’s episode, Representative Linda Garcia shares her experience fighting back against the current administration as well as what we can do to help. She explains what gerrymandering is, how it would immediately affect our communities at the local and federal level, and actions you can take to fight back against these attacks on our communities. Now is the time to get involved. We can do this, together. Resources Mentioned: Follow Linda on: IG: IG: Follow Erika on: Website: How to work with Erika:

EP. 199: I Am Worthy: Breaking the Spell That’s Been Holding You Back with Christine Gutierrez
Some people spend their whole lives affirming the fact that they shouldn’t get any more than what they have. They are told to be quiet and be grateful that they have more than their parents, and to forget their own aspirations. They believe what is essentially a lie, a spell to keep you complacent. But it doesn’t have to be this way! You can break the spell and get everything you’ve ever wanted. And to do that, I’ve invited an author who has broken the spell of unworthiness so many times and given herself the life she’s always dreamed of. Christine Gutierrez, MA, LMHC, is a Latina licensed psychotherapist, self-worth expert, and thought leader. Gutierrez is also the author of the book I Am Diosa: A Journey to Healing Deep, Loving Yourself, and Coming Back Home to Soul and the affirmation deck Wisdom Del Alma. Christine has a Bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in human behavior and development and a Master’s degree from City College of New York in mental health counseling with a focus on prevention and community. Through her work, Christine offers group coaching, corporate wellness, transformational retreats such as her annual Diosa Retreat in Puerto Rico, and soul-based business mentorship in her annual Madre Diosa Legacy Council. In addition, Christine is the founder of the forthcoming app DIOSA, a global community where like-hearted women gather to meet soul sisters, gather in circle, and rise together. She has been featured on the Kelly Clarkson Show, Latina Magazine, Yahoo Health, Ebony, Cosmopolitan for Latinas, Oprah Magazine, Entertainment Online, Telemundo, and others. For more information, head to and follow her on Instagram, where she is most active: In this week’s episode, we are breaking the spell of unworthiness that has been holding you back. With help from her brand new book, I Am Worthy, Christine Gutierrez talks about why unworthiness is a lie that you can stop believing in. So many of us have been walking around believing lies that were created to keep us quiet and small, when in reality, we have always had big dreams. Listen to Christine’s episode to learn how to break the unworthiness spell, reject the lie, and start embracing the spell of worthiness. You can have everything you’ve ever wanted, as long as you believe you are worthy of it. And the most amazing thing is - you already are. EP. 198: Manifesting as a Latina or WOC: Why It’s Different for Us
Manifesting a new life can be difficult if you feel like asking for more means that you're being a greedy person. But there’s a difference between being greedy and wanting abundance. Wanting a fulfilling life is natural, and you should be allowed to give it to yourself. Some of my clients struggle with this block while manifesting. And the more we talk about it, the more we find out that they have been self-sacrificing for most of their lives. They’ve been playing small when they have the potential and drive to do big things! But instead of using their skills and giving themselves the most amazing life, they’ve been holding themselves back. It’s time we remove that block and manifest everything you’ve ever wanted. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about manifesting as a Latina, or a woman of color, and why it’s different for us. We have so many cultural expectations and blocks that we have to work through in order to start receiving our blessings. And in this episode, I’m going to help you work through some of them so that you can start seeing your manifestations come through sooner rather than later. EP. 194: "I Was the Only One Holding Me Back" — Her Journey from Self-Doubt to CEO with Bianca Cervantes
Sometimes it’s not the job that’s holding you back. Sometimes it’s you! And that hurts! You’d never think that you’d be holding yourself back. You want to live a better life, so of course, you’d give it to yourself if you had the chance. Right? This week, we’re speaking with someone who discovered that she was holding herself back and what she did to course-correct her life. Bianca Cervantes is the co-founder of Confianza Wealth Management and co-host of the Building Wealth From Scratch podcast. She grew up in her parents’ jewelry store in a Latino working-class neighborhood, where she first witnessed the power of small business and community. After relocating to San Diego as a newlywed military spouse, Bianca faced financial stress and identity shifts that sparked her passion for personal finance. She began her career in financial services, later working with high-net-worth clients in wealth management—yet felt called to serve families like her own. After growing her and her husband's assets from $2K to $100K with the help of a financial planner, Bianca left corporate to build Confianza, a firm dedicated to empowering first-time wealth builders. Her mission is to make financial planning accessible, especially for those often overlooked by traditional firms. Bianca now empowers others to take control of their money with real talk, clear strategies, and the belief that you don’t need to be rich to start building wealth—you just need a plan and a little confianza. In this week’s episode, we talk to Bianca about why she was holding herself back from her most amazing life. This is a common problem I run into with my clients. They did the big flashy thing that’s going to restart their life for the better. But then nothing happens. They changed their lives, but they’re not any closer to their goals. Luckily, they sign up for the Courage Driven Latina program and get the guidance they're looking for. Listen to this week's episode to hear how Bianca took aligned action, stayed consistent, and became the CEO she always wanted to be. EP. 193: The 90-Day Manifestation Path | CDL Webinar
I am a firm believer in doing things before you’re “ready.” Because no one is ever “ready,” you're just scared. That fear sometimes drives my clients to do more research or get another certification, just so they can push their courage project down the line. But that’s not necessarily what that fear is trying to tell you to do. Fear isn’t there to keep you from your dreams - that fear is there as proof that you care. You care about your dreams, you care about changing your life for the better, you care about yourself and the kind of life you want to give yourself. If you didn’t care, you wouldn’t keep thinking about it! It’s time to lean in, follow that fear, and take courageous action. This week’s episode is a replay of The 90-Day Manifestation Path webinar. This webinar is going to cover how to manifest entrepreneurship, courage, or career pivots without feeling like you are scared, stuck, or overwhelmed. Ok, you're still going to feel scared, but we're going to teach you how to work with that fear instead of against it. Tune in to hear all about the 90-Day manifestation path and how you can use it to achieve your dreams. And if you're listening to this episode as soon as it drops, make sure to take advantage of the 48-hour bonus we have just for listeners like you! Follow Erika on: Website: How to work with Erika:

EP. 192: From Perfectionism to Purpose: How Jazmin Took Messy Action & Launched Her Dream Biz with Jazmin Ocampo
We tend to think of cycles in a negative light, like the cycles of abuse or the cycles of complacency. But there are also good cycles that can lead to even better outcomes than the ones you have now. Once you make a positive change in your life and stick with it, you create a new cycle that’s in alignment with what you want. The more you bet on yourself, the more results you’ll see and the more motivation you’ll have to show up for yourself. This is exactly what happened to this week’s guest, and we’re going to share her story with you on the Chingona Revolution Podcast. Jazmin's name is pronounced "Yahsz-meen,” and she goes by Yaz. She was born & raised to Mexican immigrant parents, in Chicago’s Gage Park neighborhood, and has a deep commitment to social, economic, & racial justice for BIPOC communities. She works in data & evaluations at a nonprofit that prioritizes the organizational health and sustainability of small Black and Latinx-led organizations. She values mobilizing others to embrace their holistic selves & take action towards more aligned and empowering changes. She loves all things health & wellness, and inspiring others to explore their version of that for themselves. She creates social media content about her health and wellness journey, which currently includes yoga, caretaking of her 75+ plants, strength training, salsa dancing, getting out of her comfort zone, meeting new people, testing out simple and healthy food recipes, and connecting with other community-centered content creators in the city. In this week’s episode, we’re talking to Jazmin Ocampo about how she went from perfectionism to purpose-driven. Through the Courage Driven Latina program, Jazmin was able to use the “Ghetto First Draft” to take messy action and launch her dream business. She knew she had to break the cycle of perfectionism to achieve her dreams. But she couldn’t do it if her perfectionism was going to keep getting in her way. With some coaching and commitment, Jaz has accomplished her goals and is on her way to setting new ones. Listen to Jaz’s episode to hear how she broke the cycle and started a brand new one. EP. 191: Permission to Pivot: Building a Business That Supports Your Life, Not Consumes It with Jereshia Hawk
Starting a business can be so overwhelming and somehow so freeing at the same time. You have the freedom to use all 24 hours of your day however you’d like, but you also now have to take responsibility for all 24 hours of your day. It can be exhausting, and without the right support system, it can bring all those limiting beliefs to the surface. If this sounds like you, then what you need right now is some guidance from someone in the Chingona community who’s been where you are and found their way through it. Jereshia Hawk is a Strategic Advisor and Business Coach, known as the "Millionaire Maker" for her expertise in helping high-earning CEOs scale with intention and precision. She built a 7-figure net worth solely from business profits, creating a life of freedom without sacrificing what matters most. After a planned sabbatical - where she navigated personal challenges and re-engineered her business - she now guides leaders to scale smarter, not harder. Featured in Essence, Forbes, and Business Insider, Jereshia helps CEOs streamline operations, refine their focus, and build businesses that work for them, not the other way around. In this week’s episode, Jeresha shares how she gave herself permission to pivot and how she built a business that works to support her life, rather than consume it. Let’s be real - nobody's perfect. But you don’t have to be perfect to run a successful business. You just have to keep going, even when life is life-ing. So go find out how to keep going when your marriage is on the rocks, when you don’t feel like showing up, and when all those limiting beliefs start slowing you down, listen to Jeresha’s episode today! EP. 189: How These Latina Leaders Found Courage to Quit, Pivot, and Launch with Revekka Balancier, Anahi Bravo, and Maideli Garcia
So many of the guests we've had on the podcast are some of the most courageous people I’ve ever met. As Latinas, the odds are often stacked against us. Not only are we separated from our homelands, but the country is systematically trying to keep us from succeeding. This is exactly why I wanted to take the time to shout out some incredible women who beat the odds and gave themselves the lives they always dreamed of. Revekka Balancier, the founder of Axiom of Purpose, leverages nearly 30 years of marketing and communications experience, bold creativity, and passion for the purpose to craft impactful campaigns dedicated to the greater good. After spending a decade in Hollywood publicity and promotions working on movies for Disney, Paramount, Universal, and other studios, she shifted her focus to public service. She served in key communication roles for the Lt. Governor of Colorado, Denver Human Services, Denver Public Works, the Denver Mayor’s Office, and the Port of San Diego, where she launched the agency’s new brand. She spent two years as creative strategy VP for a boutique agency before starting Axiom, focusing exclusively on purpose-driven projects, channeling her expertise toward positive environmental and social change. She spends most weekends brunching with her granddaughters, searching for better crepes than the ones she learned to make from her abuelita – hasn’t happened yet! Anahi Bravo is a First-Gen Mexican American and was born and raised in Houston, TX. As someone who comes from an immigrant background, she’s found a passion in helping the community. She is a social worker who supports unaccompanied minors, which has been a fulfilling and learning experience. During her free time, she enjoys working out and trying new hobbies. She’s also in her running and soccer era! She takes pride in being a dog mom, and she enjoys spending time with family. Maideli Garcia is a Latina money coach helping WOC save, invest, and earn more without sacrificing their JOY. She is the daughter of Mexican immigrants and the First-Gen to attend college. She got her BA in Elementary Education, but after experiencing burnout, Maideli pivoted out of teaching and into the tech space, working remotely. She now has more energy and time to commit to her mission of helping WOC confidently take control of their finances. This week’s episode is a mash-up of three women who found their courage and manifested their most amazing life. Whether it was starting a business, launching a podcast, or reaching out to help their communities, they each made the courageous choice to take aligned action. They took their ideas to the Courage Driven Latina program and made their wildest dreams come true. Tune in to this week’s episode to hear how they did it and how you can do it too. EP. 188: What I Learned From Failing in Business (Before Building Courage Driven Latina)
Failure isn’t something we should be afraid of. Yes, it’s a pain, and the rejection hurts, but it’s what helps us grow as business owners. We can never get better if we don’t figure out what isn’t working. And today we’re going to tackle the most common cause of failure. When I started talking to the business owners inside of Courage Driven Latina, I realized that their fear of failure was what was keeping my clients from reaching their full potential. These women were dealing with core wounds that they were having a hard time tackling by themselves. It wasn’t until we started talking things out that we realized they had these feelings of unworthiness and not feeling good enough that were keeping them from succeeding in business. And I could completely empathize with these women because I went through the same thing they did. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about what I learned from failing in business. Before I had Courage Driven Latina, I failed a lot. And while I know now that failure is part of the process, I can’t say I wasn’t frustrated. I was doing so much research and planning, and I wanted so badly to be successful. But I was missing a key part of the business process - taking action. Tune in to learn how I got over my fear of failure and actually embraced it. Follow Erika on: Website: How to work with Erika:

It might change next month, but for now, she’s living in a bit of magic. In this week’s episode, Arielle shares how she left the cutthroat environment of Hollywood screenwriting when she listened to her intuition and reconnected with her ancestors in Mexico. EP. 186: Financial Freedom Is Feminist: Jannese Torres on Money, Motherhood, and Not Settling
Financial freedom is something we should all be striving for. Our parents taught us to be practical and get a good, stable job. But life isn’t always stable, and if we are going to be bad ass feminists who do what we want with our lives, we need to be financially free. Financial freedom means leaving your cheating husband without worries and about bills, it means fully funding your maternity leave to spend time with your newborn, and it means taking a calculated risk on your time and not anyone else’s. This week’s guest is a good friend of mine who has done all this and more, and she’s going to show you how you can do it too. Jannese Torres is an award-winning Latina Money Expert. She became an accidental entrepreneur after a job loss led her to create a successful Latin food blog, Delish D'Lites. Now, she helps her clients and listeners build successful online businesses that allow them to pursue financial independence and freedom. EP. 185: The BFF Method: Manifest Anything by Rewiring Your Mind
Over the last six years, I’ve really been getting into the science of manifesting. Because it is a science! Manifesting has everything to do with neuroplasticity, neuroscience, and epigenetics. There’s a reason I created my dream life when I left my tech job. And there’s one specific method of manifesting that always works for me, so I’m going to share it with you today. It’s called the BFF method, and it's called the BFF method because this manifestation method is about to be your best friend forever. Using this method in your daily life is going to teach you how to be the creator of your life rather than feeling like life is happening to you instead of with you. In this week’s episode, we’re taking control of our lives with the BFF method. I’m going to share real-life examples of how I’ve used the BFF methods to manifest some of the most amazing moments in my career. And if I can do it, you can do it too! EP. 184: Mamá Didn’t Raise a Pendeja: Why Latina Wisdom Is the Ultimate Power Tool with Carolina Acosta and Aralis Mejia
"Mira, ponte las pilas." How many times have you heard that phrase before? Or "no seas una pendeja," or "nadie te quita lo que está para ti." These phrases helped guide us into the women we are today. We picked ourselves up and dusted ourselves off because we had tough love at home that taught us how to be tougher chingonas. And to be honest, these phrases still help me out to this day! When I’m feeling low, I think, "Mira, Erika, ponte las pilas," and get out of my slump. Because mama didn’t raise a pendeja! Carolina Acosta is a Forbes 30 Under 30 entrepreneur, designer, and co-author of Mamá Didn’t Raise a Pendeja. As the founder of Tragos Games, she’s built a bold, culture-forward brand that celebrates Latino identity through fun, connection, and conversation. A proud NY-born Latina with a love for salsa dancing and storytelling, Carolina blends her background in design with her passion for sharing underrepresented perspectives—creating everything from party games to community-driven experiences. EP. 183: From Low Income to Luxury Brands: Lucia Diaz on Manifestation, Mentorship & Making It Happen
Here’s the thing: no matter what your catalyst is, whether it’s a layoff or you quit and pivoted, you’ll always end up where you need to be. Take our guest, Lucia, for example. She was laid off during the pandemic, and soon after, she realized her dream wasn’t to be an art director for Amazon. That company, by the way, laid off her entire team as soon as things got rough. Now that she had the freedom to take a breath and think about what she actually wanted to do, Lucia knew she wanted to work for herself and be an illustrator. Now, she's a successful working artist who has partnered with some of the biggest brands in the world. Lucia Diaz is a published illustrator and co-author of Viva Latina, created in collaboration with Sandra Velasquez, the visionary CEO of Nopalera. As a sought-after public speaker, she has delivered impactful talks for prestigious brands, including American Express, Target, WBENC, We All Grow Latina, and Latinas in Tech. In her work as an illustrator, she has partnered with iconic global brands such as DIOR, Tiffany & Co., CHANEL, Giorgio Armani, SAKS, DVF, and Carolina Herrera, elevating events through live sketching and art that captures the essence of culture and elegance. Lucia Diaz's passion for illustration stems from a deep desire to ensure Latinas see themselves authentically represented. Growing up, the only Latina she encountered in history books was Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. This lack of visibility inspired her to take action. Studies indicate that Latinas constitute only 3-5% of the figures featured in U.S. history textbooks—a statistic that does not reflect their profound contributions to America’s legacy. Through her art and storytelling, she illuminates the power of representation. Whether creating inspiring illustrations or leading dynamic workshops, her mission is to celebrate Latinas, amplify their voices, and ensure young girls—like her goddaughter—see themselves in stories of wisdom, strength, and achievement. In this week’s episode, she shares her story of how she went from being a child of a low-income family to working with luxury brands and having an extremely coveted mentor. She went from being laid off to creating a successful business that works with some of the biggest brands in the world. She now shares her story and encourages other artists to start working for themselves rather than relying on corporate entities that don’t care about them. EP. 182: Leading Limitlessly: Reinventing Success in the Age of AI with Nikki Barua
AI is an extremely powerful tool that is currently accessible to anyone with an internet connection. We, in the Latino community, can use to give ourselves the leg up we may not have had access to before. Say, for example, you couldn’t get a Master's in Marketing Data Analytics when you were in college, but now you need to make a marketing plan for your business. AI can help you create a personalized marketing plan that appeals to any and every algorithm out there. That being said, not everyone knows how to use AI or use it well. A lot of people are afraid that AI is going to steal their jobs and leave them destitute. But AI is a tool - it’s as much a tool for you as a hammer is to a carpenter. And in this week’s episode, we’re talking to an expert in tech to teach you how to take your business to the next level. This week’s guest is Nikki Barua, the Interim CEO of Latinas in Tech. Nikki is a serial entrepreneur, keynote speaker, bestselling author, and leading expert in helping people and organizations accelerate success. In her 25-year career in innovation, she has helped global brands transform their culture and capabilities. Now she is on a mission to help business leaders reinvent the way they lead, live, and succeed in the age of AI. Nikki has won numerous awards, including Entrepreneur of the Year by ACE, named as an EY North America Entrepreneurial Winning Woman, honored as one of the 21 Leaders for the 21st Century, recognized as Entrepreneur Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Women, LA Woman of Influence by The Business Journals and Women of Entrepreneurship by LA Lakers. Nikki holds three Master's degrees and is a lifelong learner with insatiable curiosity. She believes that we are all limitless and leads her life committed to inspiring people to live up to their highest potential. In this week’s episode, Nikki tells us how we can level up as business leaders and use AI to take our businesses to the next level. We are entering a new age of leadership, and I don’t want any of you to get left behind just because you didn’t know how to use the most powerful tool of our generation.
