ALL THINGS A SOLDIER'S CHILD PODCAST
Welcome to All Things A Soldier's Child. This podcast is showcasing the incredible work being done by nationally recognized, "A Soldier's Child Foundation". A Soldier’s Child (ASC) Foundation was founded by Daryl J.W. Mackin after his neighbors lost their son, Marine Staff Sergeant Marcus Golczynski in Iraq on March 27, 2007. Many families of our fallen ask “did it matter and does anybody even care.” Marcus wrote this in a letter to his family and friends before he was killed on the battlefield; “Stand beside us, because we would do it for you.” How do we do that now that they are gone? Care for their children that have been left behind. Listen in to hear stories of hope and inspiration while following along the journey of participants, donors, and more that support A Soldier's Child! STORYTELLING WITH LINDSAY BEDNAR
Storytelling is the fabric of our society. It is how we are able to gain perspective on someone else’s life without ever having walked in their shoes. This podcast is intended to bring people together by showing the nuances of the world. It aims to highlight the gray areas as well as the commonalities we all share. The more we discuss the lens in which we operate from, the more understanding we gain of one another, and the better chance we have at bridging the gaps between us. It’s time to break the barriers and come together.
KEEPING OUR KIDS SAFE AND OUT OF TROUBLE
Do You Know All the Ways Your Kids Can Get Into Trouble in School or with the Police? Once kids reach a certain age, they start using social media, have access to drugs and alcohol, get their driver’s licenses and then go off to college with even more risks. It’s not easy for parents to talk about these topics with their children but it is imperative that they do. And they have to say more than “Stay out of trouble” and “Do the right thing.” Criminal defense attorney and father, Scott Limmer gives parents the tools to explain to their children what the legal and school disciplinary systems are really like, the consequences of getting caught doing something wrong, and steps they both need to take if they ever find themselves in that situation so they can get the best possible result.
